windshield wiper blade?

windshield wiper blade?
Just purchase a wiper blade to fit my 190 E. It does not stay in the shepards hook (will not loc) Also there is a thingy? on the wiper arm that looks like the blades supposed to fit inside it. My blade will not fit into this . What am I missing.

Did you buy just the rubber replaceable part or the full assembly that just hooks on to the arm? A picture is worth a 1000 words, perhaps post a picture to help us.
I have a half dozen of these black assembly's of different makers I purchased in an attempt to match my dark grey arm (your '91 is most likely black) and they all seem to fit fine.
I just don't like their color.

Thanks dolucasi. I went to autozone and bought The length that the chart showed should fit my car.( the metal blade with the insert) . I then put the new wiper blade and insert on and threw away the one that came on the car.
Later I noticed that it would not stay locked inside the hooked part. I tried several time to pull it and it would not lock. Thats when I noticed on the arm of the wiper arm there are two metal protrusion ( sorta like a channel for the blade to fit in), The wiper blade I bought is to wide to fit into it. I cant post a pic on this site , but I could text you a picture if I had a phone number or email. You could use the Private feature get me that info. Or just text me and I can send you a picture.
Not being familiar with how this wiper system works (but be familiar with putting wiper blades on numerous cars before) , since I just bought the car, Seems like the blade being a single operation has some unique movements that I am not aware of..
