Gotcha dolucasi I see what you mean, so that’ll likely be the one I buy!

when I selected my vehicle year/model verification the site gave that front only warning but probably an oversight on their end. Makes sense having the 4 plates

Yes I got the same warning. Someone who manages the site probably entered it incorrectly because W201 is very close to W211. Probably a typo but if you would like to make sure you can check with them.

This is a good video that shows a unique way, using the compressor spring tool for the rear suspension. He is changing out the outer rear spindle bushing. I bought the Schwaben spring compressor tool because I have to do this job too.

I bet your spindle bushing is bad too, mine is squeaky , sounds just like yours.

Thx for the vid Dave, it helps to see how it comes apart and the compressor put on. The consensus between you all and my two indies is that bushing. There was another old MB(w126 i think) with same sound.

But I still ordered everything and can install the links once it stops raining. Spindel Bushings and ball joints will have to wait until I acquire the compressor and the lift is open. I can brainstorm how to press that bushing in horizontally with brake shield in the way, don't really want to buy another tool I'll use once

Indeed, that is a super useful/relevant video Dave. Thanks!

Glad you've got an experienced MB mechanic helping you because this isn't a job for a novice. See if 1 of your indies might rent you a compressor rather than buy a new one. One the bushings, it's typically the rubber that goes bad after years of use and being subjected to all kinds of weather conditions.

One thing to do before you replace anything is to get a bottle off soapy water and see if you are able to recreate the noise by pressing down on the trunk, spray one bushing at a time and then press down to see if the noise goes away. You'll for sure find the problem. I had the same issue, but mine was from the rear camber arms because I upgraded to the adjustable ones and used the polyurethane bushings which squeaked like crazy. I resolved the problem by wrapping the bushing in Teflon tape. No squeaks for at least 5 years now.

Recently it has been very quiet even after rain, I think the fluid film I put on the links needed time to settle in. I have slowly built a stash of parts since and should thankfully have whatever I need on hand. I’d like to do it all at once but haven’t felt quite up to it yet

An interesting approach.

Sounds like you might've found a temporary fix. It's always best to try to identify the culprit part rather than throwing parts at the problem and hope it works. That can get very expensive very fast. Given the age and mileage of your car it's likely that everything will need to be replaced as a function suspension is critical for safety.
