Solution for Center console?

I'm wondering if anyone else has cracked the black plastic / rubber in the center hole of the center console? Mine is cracked, and the rubber will no longer sit in it. I see them occasionally for sale on ebay but none currently.

Unfortunate. Usually the wood lacquer goes bad before the plastic. Junk yards are your best friend for this. I wonder if the W124 plastic is the same. A lot more 124's in the junk yards these days compared to W201's. Keep looking and if you can not find one let me know. I may have one in my stock pile of parts. One has to take the staples out carefully as to not break the plastic in the process.

- Cheers!

Will take a look ! I had been through eBay for w201s, but hadn't thought of checking for w124, and failing that, would love if you could check stockpile.

Also, what you can do is remove your old cracked one and then just use the plastic retaining pieces you need to hold the buttons in place. For instance, mine was also destroyed and if I tried to roll down a window the button would fall down into the console. I ended up taking the center console trim from a w210 and I believe the climate control trim of a w124 (a w140 may be better because there are tons of buttons, thus more plastic clips) and just cut all the plastic tabs I needed and used wood glue to stick them to the back. Of course it won't look pretty under the bottom, but who cares. It gets the job done and you can save yourself a lot of searching, because you won't be finding that piece anywhere in good or usable condition unless you cast your own mold.

BTW, I checked my stock pile and I do not have the plastic for the auto transmission.
