Gas Cap
Hey,
I just got a 1991 190E 2.6 2 days ago. I have run into a problem- I can't for the life of me find the release for the gas cap door to refuel. Can someone clue me in? Thanks

Get an owner's manual as quick as you can. That aside, the fuel door is locked when the car is locked, like the doors and trunklid, it's part of the vaccum locking system. In the event of a failure of the vaccum system or the actuator on the fuel door, you can manually open the door via a latch in the trunk, behind the carpeting "wall" on the fuel door side of the trunk. When you get the manual, you'll also find the instructions for manually opening or closing the sunroof in the event the motor or cable breaks.

The hood latch release is located near your left knee, under the dashboard. Then you have to pull the final release tab on the grill. If the release does not work, you might be able to pull on the cable that runs along the top of the radiator support to just under the hood ornament with a wire hook through the plastic grill insert. In an emergency, the plastic grill can be broken to access the hood latch, since the plastic insert is relatively cheap.
