Black or Grey insert grille
Do all 190Es have the same grille. Some 190Es have black insert grilles and other like mine are dull gray. Im thinking about painting mine black.. Is it a Sport model, special addition or EVO thing.
Also what is the largest size tire you can fit on the standard 2.3 15 inch 190E rim. Looking to get a wider stance look

I'm fairly certain you can still buy the grille insert and it will probably be the later color.
The overall color scheme of the cars generally work together for the same manufacturing years, mixing them look odd.
I had bought a new wiper plastic and it was black. Never looked right so I switched back to grey (for my '89)
MB was still selling the grill inset and it was grey about 7 years ago.
If you decide to paint it I would go dark grey to match your bumper impact strip. That would be my advice.
On the tires the 195/60-15 is the widest you can go in the 6" original rims and they start looking a bit balloon(y).
Using 195/65's will rub if you do not push out the fender.
On one car I am using the 6.5" W124 gully rims with the 195 tires which is standard on the that rim. That stance looks pretty good, original look but a but no more bicycle tires.

Any W201s that have black grills have been customized. For resale value, it's best to keep the car as it came from the factory. Modifying your wheels and tires to sizes and weights your car was never deigned for will cause additional wear and tare on your suspension.

I did my grill earlier this week with “Back to Black”, a detailing brush and a couple hours of patience. My only advice is to spread the product evenly as possible and do not let it cake up on you
In hindsight I wish I could have gotten the insert to match my cars body color but happy with black over that faded grey

Depends on the tires chosen but most likely you will need to push out the front of the fender a bit. Very easy with slightly longer screws and 3/8 - 1/2 spacers.
Those 7" rims are difficult to find. Most just put the EVO-1 8" rims which are a bit more difficult to deal with but they work as well.
What is the ET on the 7" rims? I think they are 44mm.
