190E Differential oil - Will Lucas HOS work?
HI guys, i got a smeis crewed up 1993 MB 190E with over 300,000km
Everytime i shift into reverse from drive i get like a BOOM! in the back of the car. apparently its the Differential. My buddy told me that I should get the oil changed in it.
I am pretty sure that its worn to &^*&% in there, can/should I use Lucasd heavy oil stabalizer in there? it says that it can be used 100% in differentials.
That is some magic stuff, keeping my car alive!
will it work in my Differential? should I use it? if not, what should I use?

They replace what normally would be called the U-Joint on an MB and most likely other Germna Cars.
They are a round rubber bushing like deal that goes between the tranny and the prop shaft and the prop shaft and the rear diff. Most likely what would cause a thunk when shifting!

About $80 for the front and $40 for the rear. Tip, get the Allen head bolts for the front, the space is very tight so it is much easier to use the allen wrench. You should probably also replace the transmission mount, you need to take it off to get to the front flex disc.
If you let the shop do it, they will charge you $500+.
