Front brake questions?
I just replaced the front brake pads and rotors on my 1993 2.6 Sportline with OEM Mercedes parts that I purchased from a dealer. The wear was pretty much even on both sides comparing both rotors and pads, so I didn't replace the brake line hoses or bleed the system. I had to push back the piston all the way to get the new pads to fit , and they just barely fit without rubbing. The PO mechanic used blue loctite on the caliper carrier to hub bolts and they were crazy hard to get out.
Two questions-
What is the torque on the caliper carrier bolts to hub and slide pin bolts? ( I found conflicting info)
Does anybody bed in the brakes on your 190e's?

Hi Dave, previous owner must have overused the blue loctite. Only the 1/4 inch tip needs it.
My Hanes manual says front caliper mounting brackets are 85 foot-lbs. Super tight. Haynes is usually correct.
I remember it being tight. I have guide pin bolts at 22 foot-lbs in Haynes.
