Thumbs up ••• Project Stock to Awe •••

Decided to pull the drive line out for some work. I needed to do a lot of small things like fix the freekin sump oil leek which happened just after warranty, typical.. so it was easier to just pull the whole lot out.

I'll keep posting photos as I progress.

Currently waiting on some parts from the fatherland and the heads to be returned from the local race car guru. (Eddie Woods director of HSD Cylinder Heads) I'll take a stack of shots of his handy work when they get back as this guy is in high demand.

As you can see the headers came up beautiful after Jet-Hot coatings did their stuff. I had the stock 50mm inlet of the primary cats cut off and replaced it with a 4 bolt 70mm plate to remove the bottle neck. The secondaries and the long resonator get the chop chop too.

More later...

Are you going to describe your game plan? What all is going to happen during the rebuild?

Yep... can be avoided. The crap stuck on here due to excess oil can also cause detonation (Pinging ).

The catch can Victor is using is the best I've seen so far.

Awesome pics!!

Agreed!! Once you remove these parts and put this much work into them I could never reinstall the PCV as is, knowing it will tarnish and gum up all my work. I remove a ton of crap about every two weeks with my catch setup.

To easy... Photographic memory for mechanics. The same as restoring Pinball's. Not my first engine though.

Ausies can register Euro plates here too. Had these made in Heidelberg for 12 euro. Just looks different here.

are the rods the type that are made in one piece and then cracked for a stronger joint? Its strange you can't see it. Are you pulling apart the bottom end as well?

You can't see the joint because the rods are "cracked" and then bolted together, not cut. They go together seamlessly. All 112 and 113 motors are this way.

Finny, will AC o-rings cope with the heat and oil? I would think they're manufactured for a different operating environment. I would hate to have them prematurely fail after all this hard work.

Keep up the photos..... they make me scared.
