Camber and Caster issues... 2004 E55

Hello everyone, I am having some bad camber issues which are wearing a really bad ring on the inner edge of my tires for about a half inch into my tires. I got my alignment done and they cannot adjust the camber anymore than it already is. Any ideas??? Any camber kits that you suggest?

Thanks in advance.

Get the MB camber bolts for an added 1 degree and have the alignment shop open the front toe slightly..

it's toe out that causes the inner to wear, not that you'd have a clue.

Inner wear is mostly toe, Reduce the camber and set toe to factory specs

Is your car lowered?

If not, and you're still having these kind of problems, the truth is you need a new alignment shop...

Had the same issue... Alignment shop's the best in the business, they had the camber bolts in the shop. I think it's about $100 for them.

However, a good shop will get your alignment to where it's good enough, the car's setup will wear the insides of your front tires, but I'm sensing that your wear is very drastic.

Yes they are available from the dealer they are "Crash Parts" price isn't that bad probably $15 ea

Every car maker has them, it's a great way to go cheating in showroom stock racing.

You can go to any alignment shop and they wil have the bolts. I can't speak for E55pilot because retail is closer to $250 at MB for a full set. The alignment shops charge less and have much more knowledge and know how on alignment. An MB dealer will typically simply try to get you back to specs, which unlike E55pilots claim will NOT resolve your issues.

Nope not a clue. Apparently you love theory again. Ask the OP if it is truly inner wear or if it is literally a rail on the sidewall and NOT in the tread. Crash bolts alone won't be nearly enough. Taller tires with stiffer sidewalls show the issue worse.

Go to any reputable alignment shop and see what your options are. I guarantee they will either adjust toe OR bend the arms. I may not know, but they must know something that a crop duster doesn't...

Yes, you can get the bolts at any alignment or body shop. Also, yes they are available for CLKs. All it is is a standard bolt that has the shaft slightly offset. You can also purchase a kit at the parts department of any MB dealer and have the alignment shop use MB parts.

Aaah, just ignore it. Tail don't like me much and he's really just sheding light on the fact that I am not a trained technician. At least he has started to add some substance to a few of his posts instead of just personal attacks at the Lotus KILLER!!

No bro, they are one in the same. A kit is for all four corners, so it would include all the needed bolts.

My car is stock, and I have not lowered my car. I currently have the stock rims and I am running a 245 tire like the stock set up. SO, I am assuming that I might need to just get my alighnment redone????

Woah!! Sorry for the off topic banter, but your car being stock changes everything. The tires should be wearing evenly on a stock car. I raise mine up all the time just to save tires.

Yes, get it checked at the dealer. they will give you a printout of what the specs are and where your car was before and after any altering.

The stock MB specs on our cars wear the insides of the fronts as well as the rears. The rears have more room to adjust, the fronts only have so much that's not enough to eliminate the uneven wear, but a good shop can get it to where it's not that bad. Depending on how you drive, what tires, wheels you have, whether your car's lowered or not, the streets you drive on etc.

MB makes the bolts that will give you the adjustments necessary to completely eliminate the wear, if that's what you want and need. For me, I didn't go for the bolts, I did see them, touch them and feel them at my alignment shop, they come in a neat plastic bag with the OEM MB stickers and part number on them. I think I was told they're about $100, but not sure.

The most important thing about it is the alignment shop. If they're no good, all the bolts in the world aren't going to help you.
