AUX In for 2002 w203 w/ tape deck...
Hey guys, Im new here and Im trying to figure out if I can add an aux-in to my existing tape deck through the changer port. I looked through this thread...
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...layer-etc.html
As well as searched "aux w203 2002" and "aux input for 2002 w203" Im trying here but I need a little help. Can someone link me to a thread for this specific radio?

thank you sir!
I know its an older model so there won't be much discussion on this mod but Im wondering why the changer port can't be used for an aux in instead of soldering to the board of the tapedeck...

are you referring to why the CD changer port cannot be used, it can be! However, it would render the CD-changer inoperatible as the device to add on is using the connection. google search soundgate auxmb1, IMHO the costs>>benefits.

Hi Bigian,
I've the same setup as you on my coupe. I didn't want to lose my CD changer either, so decided to simply run one of those tape-to-headphone converters that you get from pretty much any electrical store.
I took a bit more time with mine, as I didnt want to leave wires 'hanging out'. Anywhere. At all. Period. Sorry, I hate loose cables!
First I took off the front console panel, and then ran the cable from the tape deck directly straight up (out of the roof of the stereo) and into the back of the center console (out of sight). I ran the cable so that the headphone jack came out in tray below the stereo (typically where I put my sunglasses). Of course I had to drill a small hole for the jack to be run through.
The (visable) result is simply a headphone jack available from the storage tray. You cannot even see the drilled hole because (a) its small, (b) its in the topside of the tray and (c) its fairly dark at the back there anyhow.
I've been meaning to post some updated pics of my car. I'll attach a picture of the stereo tomorrow or over the weekend at the latest.

^^ yeah second that question, how can the CD changer port be used? and if I've encountered the NO CD CHANGER error thats so common, will my CD Port still work with the ipod integration kit? (since it doesnt work with the cd changer....)
