Need tires for new wheels

I bought a set of 18x8.5 wheels from PowerWheelsPro.com and want to put them on this week but I need to buy some tires first. I've done some research and think I know what will fit but want to check with some people who have 18's already and see what they are running. The wheels are not staggered, 8.5 all the way around. I have a set of H&R springs to be put on as well, just waiting for my rear camber arms to arrive.

This is what I've found on tirerack.com, what set would work the best?

Pilot Sport PS2
225/35ZR18 87Y - $249.00 (ea.)
225/40ZR18 92Y - $224.00 (ea.)
235/40ZR18 95Y - $264.00 (ea.)

ContiSportContact2
225/40ZR18 92Y - $155.00 (ea.)
235/40ZR18 95Y - $243.00 (ea.)

ADVAN Neova AD08
225/40R18 88W - $201.00 (ea.)
225/45R18 91W - $223.00 (ea.)
235/40R18 91W - $233.00 (ea.)

Ventus R-S3
245/40ZR18 97W - $180.00 (ea.)

Ventus V12 evo K110
225/40ZR18 92Y - $120.00 (ea.)
225/45ZR18 95Y - $133.00 (ea.)
235/40ZR18 95Y - $136.00 (ea.)
245/35ZR18 92Y - $166.00 (ea.)

PZero Rosso
225/40ZR18 - $198.00 (ea.)
235/40ZR18 95Y - $112.00 (ea.)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Are you more worried about the size of the tire or the brand? For tire size, I just used the specs that we have inside the gas cap cover. As for brands, check out this thread that I found on various brand recommendations: https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...endations.html

I would go with the V12 evo's. I have them on my 19's on now and they are great. This is my third set of tires and by far the best ones yet.

My main concern is finding the right SIZE tire. I don't want any rubbing, obviously, after lowering it. But I don't want to stretch the tires and would prefer a flat sidewall.

I would recommend the Pirelli PZero Nero tires, they are very similar to the factory Pirelli PZero Rosso tires that came with the car, and I think they are fantastic after having them a month in most conditions (extreme heat 110+ degrees, rain, dirt roads, drag strip, no snow here...)

The Factory tires and wheels are:

Front:
225/40/ZR18 92Y XL

Rear:
245/35/ZR18 92Y XL

I had Pirelli PZero Rosso's on my car, great tires but they wore out fast and cost around $280 a tire, alot of road noise, hard ride, and rear end would slide out easy.

How ever through recommendation someone told me to try the Pirelli PZero Nero tires, they are practically the same tire, last longer on tire wear and cost half the price around $167 a tire.

I wanted a wider tire in the rear so I did my home work and decided to go with the 255/35/ZR18 (94Y) Pirelli PZero Nero's.

The outer circumference (245/35/18 = 24.75 inches, and the 255/35/18 = 25.02 inches) only changes by such a small fraction it doesnt affect the speedometer, at 65mph your actually going 65.7mph

The tire is a bit wider (The 255 is approx 10.4 inches wide, the factory 245 is approx 9.5 inches wide) no rubbing issues what so ever, and have room to lower the car with plenty of clearance from any rubbing.

I can say that these tires (Pirelli PZero Nero's) are great I've had them for about a month now just on the rears and they are great, lots of grip, better handling, quieter and smoother ride than the Pirellie PZero Rossos.

The Nero's are supposed to get around 25k-40k miles for tire wear depending on driving habits, where the Rosso's only get around 15k-20k miles for tire wear and cost more!

I am extremely satisfied with them, and when the fronts are ready im going to put them on the front also.

Check them out - Pirrelli.com/pzero_nero

I've had Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's in the past on another car and they wore out to fast 10k miles, and the ride wasn't that great as the tread wore down, and had less grip.

You can find the pirelli's at your local discount tire. Here are the prices I found for pirelli p-zero nero m+s

Front:
225/40/ZR18 92Y XL
$174.00ea

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/tir...25&ar=40&rd=18

Rear:
255/35/ZR18 92Y XL
$229.00ea

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/tir...55&ar=35&rd=18

You're looking at $806 + mounting + tax = little less than $900

Forgot to mention the $40 rebate also

Also if you go to tirerack.com discount tire will match their tire price + s&h cost and which is always cheaper.

Be advised that there are 3 different versions of the tire, so choose the one that best fits your driving habits and surrounding environment conditions, like heat, snow, mud etc... Also pay attention to the tread wear number, the factory Pirelli PZero Rosso had a tread wear of 220, some of the Pirelli PZero Nero have upto a tread wear of 400, the higher the tread wear number the longer the tread will last milage wise.

M&S Tire = (Ultra High Performance) - Optimal grip, precise cornering and elevated safety on wet asphalt or critical road surfaces thanks in part to the M+S (Mud & Snow) compound.

Pirelli PZero Nero - M&S info

All Season Tire = (High performance - Ultra High Performance) - Provides a winning combination of quiet ride, precise cornering and superior grip in wet and dry driving conditions.

Pirelli PZero Nero - All Season info

Summer Tire = (Ultra High Performance) - Ideal choice for tuners and racing enthusiasts for their high performance cars, Precise cornering, excellent grip and high resistance to aquaplaning for the utmost driving enjoyment.

Pirelli PZero Nero Summer info

Happy motoring

I had the same tires on my 18"s and loved them. They don't like to be pushed for more than 15 minutes or so at the track but for daily driving they're fine. The only problem is that the rears went out FAST.

I had them for about 4 months before they went bald. Then again, I drive like a bat out of hell.

just wondering why you didn't go staggered?
are you going with the same size front and back on tire? is this so you can rotate them?

The main reason is I got them for a steal and they were the last set. I'm going to order 2 9.5's when they are available and have an extra set of front's. It will be nice to have the ability to rotate them as well.

The rear tire might be a little bit fatter when I make the purchase.

I had/have the continental procontact dws on my '10 Mazdaspeed3. Tirerack rated them best for winter performance which was all I needed to hear. I was impressed by how great those tires worked and I'm actually planning to go with those again when I get them for the new ride.
