EQS SUV service inteval

Still learning our new 2024 EQS 450+ SUV. I actually read the operators manual page to page...all 600 pages. But, I was surprised I couldn't find anywhere in the supplied documents the service interval....when is service/maintenance due. Did I miss it somewhere in the documents? Do you all know if it is documented somewhere...maybe on the MB website somewhere? Because I'm interested in seeing the official maintenance schedule from MB...I'm not asking for you to tell me the schedule...but where is the maintenance documented. Thanks, Dave

I share your frustration with the lack of information with respect to scheduled maintenance for the EQS SUV. I searched unsuccessfully for the type of information which had always been included with the manuals for my ICE MBs. I did post details of what is included with the 20K complimentary service.

https://mbworld.org/forums/eqs-suv/8...-included.html

At the 40K mile mark I replaced the filters and wiper blades but skipped the brake fluid flush and decided to stretch that to a 2-year interval in Summer 2025. In addition to the items replaced at the 20K service, I check the rotor and brake pad thickness when I rotate the tires every 5K miles.

I asked the dealer

I asked the dealer that exact question they said mainly your oil change and filters and such I replied so if there’s no oil, what are we actually doing. I’m still waiting for an answer.

From what I heard from forum members instead of a Service A and B and repeat, you only need to have it serviced every B Service, so every other year. I am not sure if that is true though.

My SA confirmed that it only requires a B service every other year.

What would that equate to in terms of mileage? Every 20k miles?

Seems to be filters and brake fluid. I am guessing that in EVs the brake fluid tends to get water logged as there is not enough friction braking to heat the brake fluid and remove water. At some point I expect there will some sort of cooling system fluid work, and it is possible that there might a reduction gear oil change, but those might more at 100,000 miles…. Other than that it service seems to be at 20,000 miles or two years, as determined by the computer. You should be able to see the miles to your next service in the car somewhere (I have not looked for it as the warnings show up in plenty of time).

Many dealers have a similar page, but this is the first one that came up in Google. Of course, they left out the "2 years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first" part.

About $1100, unless you also need a HEPA filter. Then add a few hundred more. You can do the basic filter and wiper blade changes yourself. It's also easy to inspect the brake pad rotor thickness to confirm that they are still serviceable.

@LAZARU5 , I asked this on a different thread, but I think it fell down the thread list...how do you get up the hatch to get at the brake fluid? It feels like prying will result in a broken tab, but I see no other way in without removing a lot of cladding.

It's not necessary to remove any cladding around the cowl or windshield. Lift the lower edge first then shift the cover forward to disengage the tabs along the top edge. It's probably easier to do this with the hood open.

found another local dealership that will do A La Carte instead of the whole A2.
Brake System Fluid
Charcoal Cabin Filters
Dust Filters
Check HV Battery System and any codes

Total will be $490 which isn't as bad as previously quoted $1200 for whole A2

But then they will also charge you $710 to reset the service indicator. 😂

2024 EQB250
Morning everyone,
New to the forum. Thanks for sharing all of the great information, I'm learning already. What I would like to know, and can't seem to find, is how to reset the service indicator on an EQB250? Is it dealership only type of thing? We have had 4 other MBs, not electric, and it's easy, but this one, not so much! Also, as far as coolant, what type? Car isn't here or I would check the service manual! Thanks for any advice.

EQS SUV
Welcome!
1) This is the EQS forum, you'd probably have better luck in the EQB forum.
2) Youtube is a wonderful source for this sort of quick info:
3) Per the MB Operating Fluids specification 320.1, all MB EVs aside from the Smart EV & MB EQT use specification 326.6 (Premixed) ( or 325.6 for Concentrated, but why go through the hassle of mixing it yourself?). The page on 326.6 lists all the approved equivalent coolants. Here in North America, I find that Zerex G40 is the easiest to find, available at most O'Reilly auto parts locations.

To be fair to the dealer, Mercedes charges $150 a session for use of the Xentry system, so the dealer is only clearing $560 for the reset.

Why not reset the service indicator yourself? I've been doing it for years!

To reset the service indicator on a Mercedes EQS, turn on the ignition to position 1, navigate to the "Assist Plus" menu using the steering wheel controls, select "Full Service," and confirm the reset. Once completed, you should see a confirmation message indicating the service light has been reset.

According to my dealer, Service is due every 12 months or 10k miles, whichever comes first. Low mileage cars need to be serviced every 12 months. The car will tell you in the instrument cluster when it's due for service. As has been said many times, oil degrades over time, whether you drive the car or not.

This is an EQS though, there are no engine oil changes...

It really is an electric vehicle, from what I gathered first service starts at Service B.
