Not sure yet. They haven't touched a C250 yet so they're going to see what they CAN do first, then let me know about pricing. ECU for sure, but past that I'm not positive.

Hopefully they can do some oem testing prior to mods, like:

1) check pressure drops across intake (w and w/o filter), then across the IC. If they don't have logging capability for this, a Dwyer differential pressure gage (0-100" water column) goes for about $60.

This was critical when I set up my 7 for the track;

a) air filter box had high drop due to snorkel to box connection ... I closed snorkel inlet and created a cold air inlet at bottom of box. No drop with stock filter.

b) Deeply bellowed flex hose from box to turbo inlet had high psi drop. Replaced with larger ID, metal ring reinforced hose. no significant psi drop.

c) IC was apparently designed for a lawn mower. Greddy replacement dropped inlet temps, but had moderate pressure drop, used die grinder and calipers to open up thick, cast inlet bore. removed 1/3 cup of aluminum chips.

2) check intake charge temps, starting from a stop light after heat-soaking, then a start after a long coast dn to cool the IC. (can be done on Dyno)

3) How close is the Mass Air Meter to maxing out?

4) How close is fuel inj system to maxing out ( at least log psi in high pressure rail )

5) turbo back pressure (tricky to do) should be no more than 150% of max boost

6) Identify turbo, find compressor curves (some times just the inlet bore is sufficient, if you have general hp vs mm bore data). How close to limit is turbo?

7) ... whoops, I forgot 7

.

Please post a video when you get it back. I want to see how fast they made it. And make sure you get the "C250" taken off and get it badged up with Renntech.

Pics will be nice also!

Thanks!

Cars been there a few days, any remote ideas of what they are going to do to it? Or if they can pull any decent power out of it?

Why take off the c250 badge, I am a c250 owner, I feel proud of my car. I know it not as fancy and expansive compare to 300 and 350, but c250 has better gas mileage...that just my 2 cent

Sent it to the one in FL. They've had some issues getting a backup ECU because they haven't tuned a M271EVO yet, so they don't want to screw up the only ECU the car has. I just sent them the registration for the car (I officially bought the thing an hour ago) so they can get THE ONLY FRIGGIN SPARE ECU in the country! Thomas said they should have an answer t/m about delivery. I still haven't actually seen the car in person yet, so I'm all sorts of stoaked. They're also using the car for some photos for they're website to promote a few new products they're going to test on my car (Wheels, spoilers, fake fender vents, etc). I'll keep you guys posted.

I think I may debadge the whole car. If I keep the badges I'll swap them out for C180.

Nice! Please keep us updated. I know they've had experience with the M271 before, but it wasn't that great. Hopefully the EVO will be different.

AZNOptics is good. The Retrofit Source is also great quality as well.

I had the dealer remove the C250 badge and the "Blue Efficiency" Ovals as well.

From what the guys are telling me, the block is the same as the M271, but the top is totally new for the direct injection and new turbo. I have no idea, engines might as well be magic, Greek magic, I have no idea how they work.

Quick question... Why buy a C250 and then send it to RennTech for modification? The amount of money it would cost to get "suboptimal" gains would put you well into the territory of a C350, heck, probably close to the C63 as well... So - WHY?

However, I am intrigued by this, would be cool to know how much power RennTech can make out of the little bugger. I'm sure that if they make headway, others can learn from it and you will see other companies offer packages and upgrades!

As far as AZNOptics go, it was pretty much a startup from a fellow Forum member here on the boards (AZNC300). So he has always taken care of fellow forum members and W204 owners. The warranty has been awesome, and the products have been second to NONE IMO. The research and time Mike put into developing these products has really paid off. You KNOW its going to work when you get it. The LEDs have resistors pre-installed so you don't get flickering or light-out messages, and the HID kits have error cancelers BUILT-IN. So it really gives you peace of mind!

It comes down to price. I work for MB so the employee lease rate is pretty spectaular. Plus, the car was already in FL, and no one in the States has a properly tuned C250 yet (that I know of), and I like Renntechs body of work, so it was a no-brainer to send it there. I'm trying to get my dealership to be a Renntech distributor, figured this would be a good way to start the relationship.
