2012 C63 Steering Wheel Fit 09 or 10
Hey Guys saw a few pretty sick 2012 C63 Steering Wheel Setups. Will they fit a 2009 or 2010 C63? The button format looks to be the same. Am wondering if it will be plug and play?

Yes its a plug and play BUT if you only replace the steering wheel and ofcourse the airbag the buttons wont light up on the steering wheel. You also need to replace the column to the 2012 one (A212 900 7702) Yes its an E-Class number but its the corect one.
Edit: It seems that now it is possible to reprogram the original column in stead of buying the 2012 one, see topic https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post5004170
I did it and my daughter seems to like the wheel

The only that will work is the 2012 one, that column is both used in the W212 (e-class) and W204 (c-class).
I am afraid I cant help you with that website, I am only familiar with the codes Mercedes uses. You have a lot of different 2012 columns(With or without cruise control, memory function etc) and to be able to identify the correct one you really need the MB part number.
Again there is a possibility that you dont need the new column but can reprogram the current one although there is not much know about that at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. Has anyone figured out how to make the buttons illuminate as well on the steering wheel? Makes no sense it'd be plug and play but the buttons dont light up?

Well I thought the same so I asked around to see if the cable harness maybe needed an adjustment, maybe the ground and/or + for the lighting only changed on the new column but I didnt find the answer to that.
So to summarize you have 3 options:
- Install the 2012 E/C Class Colum - 100% confirmed working
- Have the old column reprogrammed for the new steering wheel - Some say it worked but didnt tell who/what/where etc to do it
- Change the cable harness of the old column if you can find out the old and new electric schema of the column - unconfirmed, just a thought
So to summarize you have 3 options:

I got mine from the dealer, I live in the Netherlands (next to Germany) and for parts you can best go to the dealer here and try to get a good discount (I get 15-20% discount).
I believe I payed around 250 euro for it

TonCoronel ... after you upgrade to the new steering, the paddles were functioning normally? is this with the column or without?
I installed mine recently, I don't care everything is working well except for the buttons illumination and the paddles which the most important for me.
I hope anyone else could update us.

My paddles directly worked on the new steering wheel with both the old and the new column. The paddles do have their own connectors so maybe the person who installed in forgot to connect the paddles?

Nope thats not true...
If your original steering wheel already had shifter paddles (and you have a C63 so yes it has) then you dont need a coding update to let the new wheels shifter paddles work.
If the original wheel did not have the shifter paddles like some/most of the lower speced C classes (C300/350?) then there is a coding update needed so the car understands it has shifter paddles installed.
On the forum someone said that you can have the old steering column get reprogrammed to make sure the lights on the steering wheel work but never told us what to recode, and this was only for the lights and not the paddles.

An update regarding my paddle issue:
I went to DCT motorsports and Ivan gave me a big help and sort this issue out
While examining my paddles and the other working paddles that DCT motorsport have, we found that my paddles (in Carbon Fiber) have different part number than the working one. CF paddles were the type for 2008-2011 steering wheels, so it has different wire termination than the paddles (silver) for 2012 steering wheel. The paddles has two cables (yellow and black), and the difference between the two models was they were in opposite side.
So we flipped the termination (black to yellow, and yellow to black), and it worked perfectly (what it's in the photo is the right termination).
Long story short, if the paddles were from the older model (2008-2011) and will be connected to 2012 steering wheel, the termination of the paddles cable need to be changed/flipped.
Big thanx to Ivan from DCT motorsports for his talent and help.

steering wheel shift W204 pre-facelift to the existing steering wheel W204 facelift!
good day
We here to get the lights to work! ... exchanged the motherboard of the old airbag to the steering wheel again! is easy, with a little effort, the best would be to send the photos, explaining step by step how to not have much experience posting in the forum, I'll try to post some photos here, or you can e-mail!?

Has anyone here done the motherboard swap?

I didn't do the motherboard swap. Just the steering column swap and it worked for the buttons to be lit.
