Facelift steering wheel

I installed my new wheel a couple days ago. I feel like i have a new car !lol!
The leather is so soft comparing to my old one. As well controlling the car feels different like my power steering has been upgraded!
I did change the steering column with one coming from the E class. Everything works fine ( lights, shift paddles, indicator, cruise control, wipers, memory function etc...). Took me 30 to 45 minutes to complete. You probably can do it faster once you know what to do
I'm starting to have a fresher look inside. CF will be next on the list. It's been a year since I wrapped the OEM trims.

Looks amazing!

Congrats on the upgrade, was it a straight forward replacement?

Looks great. A definite upgrade!

BTW, that's a very nice gear selector.

Last time I checked, someone with an 09 in this forum switched the steering wheel to the 10+ and reported the backlit button light (those amber lights) would not work on the new wheel.
Can you confirm this issue is solved?

The first picture does show the buttons lit.
Maybe this one will be more obvious

Thx for the confirmation.

So all you purchased were the new steering wheel and the new column from E, correct? It would be great if you can share the part numbers and your cost?

looks great. apparently the steering wheel works with our without the new steering column. the new steering column will just make the buttons light up at night. not a big deal if they don't light up imo.

anyway, i'm selling a steering wheel for my friend. no airbag though so you'd have to get that on your own. taking best offers if anyone else is interested.

Bought the wheel from the classified section here for really cheap 300$. Coming from a 2013 c63. I got lucky on this one
I just bought an used steering column (#A212 900 3415 9051) for 175$ and the airbag (323$) off ebay.

You are right. The steering column is just to have everything looking OEM. The steering wheel will work without it. GLWS

Does that E class column relocate the turn signal and cruise control levers as well? Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong but appears the turn signal is now on top.

You're right. The newer style column has different positions for those levers. If you sit into a 2012+ C Class, you'll notice it.

No some members have said that only the lights won't work if you install the wheel on a stock column.

Don't be ... it is just a wheel
By the way I still need to install the LSD you sold me. Just being lazy...

Yes all 2013 MY C class have this new column design. 2012 MY still have the old one. At least that is what I've noticed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

2011 e350 Wagon & 2004 e320
Old thread but to confirm, if I bought a facelift steering wheel like from a 2014 c63, I can install that to my 2011 e350 wagon by just buying and installing a colum from a facelift model?? And all buttons, paddle, lights will work with no issues? And don’t have to do a chip swap? Thanks

I can't confirm it will work because I never installed it but I have a steering column if interested.

Which column do you have? I need the one with rear wipers, distronic cruise, and lane assist if possible

I have to apologize. I just went to the garage for a look and I can't find the steering column. I just moved and I am not sure if I got rid of it or if it is in a yet to be opened box. Either way not much help to you at this point. I don't believe it had the rear wipers, driver package or distronic so probably not much good to you anyway. Good luck with the facelift steering wheel install.

I decide to bite the bullet today and swap out the chip/board and it worked!!!! It was easier than I expected!! Boards were the exact same size and literally remove and replace. Then plug all the wires back in and all good to go.

Only thing is that I have an airbag error message that I have to remove. But the hard work is done!!
