Sad engine

Haven't got to drive this car yet this year. 50hr buff job, paint, wheels etc...

Just washed the engine (knew it prob wasn't a good idea) to finish it up and got some water in the spark plug holes 7-12 causing bad spark and the plugs to foul. 1-6 are perfect and had 0 water.

I just replaced all the plugs and still am misfiring 7-12. Do you guys think the brief run blew the coil out?

try opening the hood on a hot day and letting the water dry out. But it sounds like you killed a coil pack.

I hope its the coil because I just ordered it. If its ignition would both coils be acting up or still the one?

if it's the ignition module you'd probably have faults on both sides of the engine.

After a lot of digging I found out specs on the coil pack voltage from the icm. Tested mine and I am getting 180v, 23v and 12v, in the correct spots so I feel a little more confident now its the coil. Will know this week.

Found this also:

Date: May 16, 2003
Order No.: P-B-07.61/18d
Supersedes: P-B-07.61/18c dated February 24, 2003
Group: 07
Revision: Procedure in Remedy 2 updated
SUBJECT:
Models 215/220 with Engine 137 Engine Running / Combustion Misfire Complaints If you encounter instances in Model 215 / 220 vehicles equipped with engine 137 of engine running / combustion misfire complaints, please refer to the following possible causes and remedies.
Cause 1:
Check engine light on with or without engine running complaint characteristics. Codes P0300 (P2050) and one or more misfire fault codes, P0307-P0312, for left cylinder bank.
Remedy 1:
Remove left ignition module and inspect for discharge. Refer to WIS document no. AR15.12-P-1100L. Discharge has occurred if: a. Scorch marks are seen on the large diameter end of at least one red rubber seal and/or b. Illuminating the ignition coils reveals chipping, wear or signs of scorching on the lower face at the black plastic tower.
If no discharge has occurred, do not replace the ignition module; otherwise the ignition module will be debited back to the dealer. If discharge has occurred, remove and replace the ignition module. The red rubber seals of the ignition modules must always be replaced following removal.
Cause 1A:
Increased oil entry into combustion chambers of the left cylinder bank due to driving style with extremely high cylinder shutoff (CSO) frequency.
Remedy 1A:
If oil fouling is clearly visible, remove and replace spark plugs and install old ignition module. If old style spark plugs (designation 14FGH) are installed, remove and replace spark plugs using spark plugs with designation 14F. Refer to WIS document no. SI15.10-P-0001B.
Cause 2:
Check engine light on with or without engine running complaint characteristics. Codes P0300 and one or more misfire fault codes, P0301-P0312, for left and/or right cylinder bank.
Remedy 2:
Remove ignition module of affected side of engine bank and inspect for signs for discharge.
If, when researching engine running complaints, no fault code is stored in the engine control module the ignition module is not the cause of the complaint and should not be replaced. If combustion misfire with fault code P0300 is found in conjunction with further misfire fault codes, the engine control module is not the cause of the complaint and should not be replaced.
Refer to WIS document no. SI07.00-P-0008A.
Remedy 2 - Parts Return Information:
All replaced ignition modules with a part number that begins with 275 (275 150 04 80 and 275 150 05 80) must be returned together with freeze frame printouts to Warranty Inspection. Ignition modules returned to Warranty Inspection without freeze frame printouts will be debited back to the dealer as of repair date May 16, 2003.
