Placed my order today. The above is my final. Was going back and forth on color, but dealer had a Selenite 350 on the lot that put a fork in it. My current GLC43 is Selenite, so I wanted something different, but with the plastic parts around the wheels, etc. my options were limited on what looked good to my eye. I know, I know; I wanted the AMG exterior package (DG1), and then would have done white, but I wanted the upgraded audio more, so it was a trade off I struggled with. I also wanted the R77 wheel, and you can't get that with the AMG package. Nor the night package. Actually, my GLC43 has the plastic around the well, and the Selenite mitigates it somewhat. The 350 they had on the lot in that color actually looked pretty sharp, so it's done. I don't ferry a lot of rear passengers, so I left off 4 zone climate and rear sun shades, as well as third row. I really wanted to keep the build under $90k, so I had to value engineer the upgraded LED's out. The base LED's should be fine. Also, being in Texas, I left off the warmth & comfort package, but added the stand alone rapid heat seats.
My dealer said I had a first decade May slot, but he was going to try to trade another dealer in the network for a sooner one. We'll see. If it has to be May, I'll just hammer for a deeper discount. We'll see how that goes.
Looks like a nice package working around the AMG issue for you Burmeister. I am bummed that the Acoustic Comfort was dropped from my build & will be interested to learn how the glass does in Texas sun. On paper it looks like a nice add for noise as well as sun blocking.🤙
I finally got to see one today also. I was immediately struck the solid build and all the tech. Mercedes has done it here. To think that these are just the 350 and 450 models. The inevitable GLE53 and 63 models are going to be over the top. Mercedes already has a hit with the GLC, now this GLE and next up the GLS and the potential breakout runaway sales hit, the GLB. Really impressive. I can't believe they have duplicated the old feel of Mercedes from 20 something years ago with this new GLE. Everything about the interior is solid as can be except the gear lever. MBUX is a wow show piece that will get many to sign the dotted line. Well done.
Sorry about your saga. No way I'd take a car with the third row option.
I ordered the first morning NetStar opened up. I've always been 1st decade February production. At first it showed "production date" as 2/27, but despite no changes on my end it moved to 3/14. Today it shows mine as 3/13. So, late March/beginning of April delivery it looks like.
Why no way to take a car with 3rd row option? Is it because you dont need it? or does having the 3rd row affect the 2nd row's legroom?
Also, has anyone tried sitting in the 3rd row? i wonder hows the space at the back

I have not but it's supposed to be pretty tight, designed for kids. As I have kids I ordered it. I don't think it takes room from the 2nd row and because you can move the 2nd row forward, and because the 2nd row has so much room to begin with (I've sat in that and it's SPACIOUS), I think it should be ok back there... Does anyone know what TRP stands for? Two Row Platform? Does this imply 630L of cargo capacity with the three row option and third row folded? I'm unsure if there is less cargo space with the 3 row option and it concerns me.
My dealer is getting a 450 soon, and the build sheet shows a "Credit for missing 235 (Parktron ... parking assist). Does anyone know what this is? The actual parking assist package is only $400, so why would a credit for a missing parking feature be $970? I can't find a "235" code anywhere in the DOG.
Also wondering if the car has "self-parking" feature (parallel and perpendicular)? Or of the parking package is only for adding extra cameras?

I definitely did not notice that, good catch. I tried building his GLE again and as soon you select the 21" 5-spoke wheels the rear plastic fender is gone. A bug in the German Configurator.

If you take the 3rd row you lose the spare and get Run Flat tires, a big negative to a lot of people. Those that really need a 3rd row have it as an option.

Guessing it refers to “Parktronic Active Parking Assist” and as you say it is not listed in the DOG. It must be a hardware piece, maybe a camera since as you say it’s more credit than the cost of the option.
The bigger question after repeated issues holding up productiion, credits for missing items, Netstar issues, Demo’s with issues, different tires-what is really going on? I’m becoming concerned about my pending order. Not only will it probably slip a few more weeks but how many more changes will there be besides my missing Acoustic Comfort Pkg and the added Sill Protector that I didn’t want. Now add some unexpected Quality issues....not what I expected from a Mercedes.
After posting my thoughts on the 2019 BMW X5 I decided to research if current owners have been reporting issues. I found pages of issues in several forums. Most issues appear to be linked to their latest iteration of iDrive. Many bugs being reported by new owners. The need to get a new model to market by a manufacturer should never ignore the time and patience needed to properly test and debug a new model. I have friends who currently own BMW's who say they are not pleased with the issues (some electrical, some software) they have to endure. Admittedly, cars are getting very high tech and issues can arise but it appears BMW may have rushed the 2019 X5 to market. Even our test drive produced a few glitches the salesman couldn't explain.
As Ron points out above, for our sakes lets hope MB is not rushing the GLE to market. As I've said before, I'd rather wait and buy a solid, issue-free GLE than have it delivered next week. I've owned three MB's to date and only the first GL550 gave us any issues but it was a new model in it's first year. I plan to thoroughly test drive the GLE when it arrives and really put it through it's paces before buying it. No drive around the salesperson's normal test loop and back. My wife and I will take it for an lengthly drive before we agree on a trade. As she likes to say, we own our GLS 550 and it's a great SUV so we're under no pressure to trade it if we're not fully convinced the GLE is right for us.

Since this appears to be for missing standard equipment, there are two codes related to parking that are standard, P44 Parking Package (Parktronic & Rear View Camera) and 235 Parking Pilot. Here is a demo of Parking Pilot:
I believe Parktronic & Parking Pilot work via the ultrasonic sensors, not cameras (Surround View is a separate additive option). Hard to say exactly what was missing on this car without seeing it.
Now, Remote Parking Pilot is a further development of this system:

Now factor in the distance to the nearest Mercedes Dealer or a Tire Co. that might not even have the tire and you have a high probability of Roadside Assistance. At least with the compact spare you have a chance to get somewhere, albeit at reduced speed also. As I was getting my Audi serviced a woman drove in with the tire shredded and the wheel damaged beyond repair. She had driven less than 30 miles but “might have” driven a little faster than 30! They told her it would be 7-21 days depending on locating a wheel.

MB Dallas had one in Mojave silver and I didn't care for it that much, although it was a 350, and a fairly base package with ugly wheels. By the way, which configurator is this? I tried on the german one, I think, and it didn't have the R77 wheels. Thanks again for the post.

Per The Tire Rack, "Note that a run-flat tire's endurance is dependent on operating conditions such as the flat tire's position on the vehicle, vehicle load, ambient temperature, driving speed and distance traveled. Run-flat tires cannot be driven faster than 50 miles per hour and typically offer up to 50 miles of extended mobility. Selected applications, based on vehicle and the run-flat tire design, can range from just 25 miles up to 200 miles. Consult your vehicle owner's manual to determine what you should expect." Temporary spares also have a 50 mph limit, but should last way more than 50 miles.

For those that are considering the base gloss grey linden wood trim: when I was at the dealer yesterday, they had a 350 with black leather and the grey linden trim (standard trim according to DOG), which is what I was going to get. I noticed that while it had the gloss grey linden wood on the dash line and doors, the console trim was piano black. Not sure if this is an early production issue, or just the way it is. I made sure to shine a light on it and look at it different ways, as the gloss grey wood is dark and wanted to make sure I was seeing correctly. My salesman agreed with my assessment, but had no clue about why, or if normal, or anything about it. I don't want piano black on any of my trim (personal preference), so I changed to the walnut. So, for those opting for the gloss grey linden which is standard, be aware that the console trim and sliding console cover MAY be piano black and not wood.
