C55 Spoiler On 2005 C230 Ss - Thoughts??

At first I did not like the new C55 AMG spoiler...but it has grown on me.. my first question is what do you think about the new spoiler?
2nd question is can a 2005 C230 SS be equipped with it?? Or does the factory only put these on C55 AMG's?

I went to MBUSA and selected the spoiler option while building each car and the same picture and breakdown came up.

if anybody has already put the new spoiler on their c-class can we see some pics if possible??
Either way Thanks in advance for your feedback....

MB Accessories are installed at the dealership, so I would guess that they will put either on for you. You will have to pay for the spoiler, prep, paint, and install; take a deep breath when they give you the bill.

You can always order the spoiler later on and have it painted and installed at another paint and body.

I am thinking about the C55 spoiler myself for my '05 C-230k SS.

I ordered my spoiler right out of Ft Laud from a place that sells mostly spoilers for all cars. It costed me around 275.00 with tax PAINTED! I havent put it on yet but it matches my paint perfect and it doesnt look cheap or flimzy, It looks like the Oem MB C55 spoiler. I dont have the Phone# but i do have the website likeLink to mercedes

Try there...Good luck Guss

As far as I can tell, that spoiler pictured in the ebay auction is not the C55 lip spoiler. It looks like the Lorinser replica.

Spoiler...

So the accessory is installed at the dealer only?? How about if your car is getting built, will they add it for you in the factory, or will they wait and add it for you when it arrives??

The MBUSA website has the price for a spoiler listed at $398, if I have that added as an option when I finalize the car purchase...will they still charge me more??

Thanks for the feedback...

Good Idea...

Let me see how the 2 dealer visits I have this week go, if the dealers try to stiff me with the spoiler....then I will shoot Steve and e-mail...

Does Steve install it too, or does he just get your the spoiler painted and ready to go.....?

The lip spoiler on 2005 Accessories isn't the same as C55 one. A C55 spoiler will run you about $500USD unpainted. And I got my 2005 accessories one for just $400 painted.

Here is few pics of my 2005 C-accessories spoiler:

And here is a pic of C55 spoiler:

Personally I think AMG one looks better, but I just couldn't justify to pay $500+paint for a small piece of plastic.

nice pics..thanks

Thanks for clearing that up for me and the nice pics...the pics for the spoiler on the MB website are identical for both the C55 and the C230 SS, so that is why I thought they were both the same...guess not...that sucks...I guess the cheapest way then to get the C55 spoiler is from Steve...

What are the major differences between the factory 2005 C230 spoiler and the factory C55 spoiler?? does anybody know??

$500USD shipped is the quote I got from Steve a month ago.

Both C55 and C230 spoiler are genuine MB product, made in Germany, and use the same material. The only difference is the shape and size (C55 one is thinner, smaller, and lighter)

I normally hate any kind of spoilers, but the C55 spoiler is nicely done. But for 500 its too much for a thin peice of metal.

I doubt it's even metal. Fiberglass perhaps?

I only can say it is a primed white plastic, which I believe is urethane.

Saridi: Where did you buy your spoiler? Also was it $400 Canadian or US?

$400USD.

Actually my spoiler is bought from a dealership in Toronto, where they had a painted one and the customer backed out. So I just picked up that painted spoiler for less than $400.

But if you interested to get 05 accessories spoiler, you can send Harris@hartonmotorwerk an e-mail. I believe he has few in stock.

Also, for everyone looking for C55 spoiler in Canada, the spoiler is back-order across Canada right now, and dealerships have no idea when the spoiler will back in stock. So the best bet is order the spoiler from Steve@MBenzNL, or just wait......
