I just took delivery of my 2024 but it had been on the lot for a while... I was very clear I wanted fully upgraded software when I worked the deal with the GM and he was accomodating. My car barks and pops like the 4th of July.

Quote: So update on my end:

I took it in to the dealership, told them about the issue, and even emailed the service advisor this picture to let them reference it when diagnosing the car, and the foreman reported that nothing was wrong and the exhaust valves were opening correctly in S+ and Race mode… I don’t think he had a clue that the car is supposed to have lots of pops and bangs instead of just a simple “thud” sound when shifting. I guess I should take it to another MB dealership and ask to go on an actual test drive with the foreman to point it out myself?

Yup try another dealership.

Yes...try another dealership! Or demand that they figure it out.
Did they upgrade the software on yours? Not sure if that's what finally got my pops and bangs back....but that is how it's supposed to be....there are dozens of videos on YouTube that demonstrate this sound....Paul from Mercedes Benz of Boerne (Texas) was my tech...who went on a test drive with me....and I showed him...no pops....after 2.5 days at the dealer...Paul figure out how to fix it (he even test drove a new 2025 model to confirm the firework sounds)....it's perfect now.
Good luck! It will be worth the effort!

Was the other forum members' pops and bangs completely gone as in null? If so, surprised there are no codes at all stored. Even soft limp mode can stop those from producing as the ECU might deem it unsafe to do so.

Quote: FYI....my "Individual" mode is comfort suspension....and "max" everything else! Ton's of fireworks with this set up. I've found this to be my favorite combination.

I was wondering what this thing would sound like with a resonator delete? Not that it really needs more exhaust drama....or maybe it does
I just re read this thread and saw your question about the res. Id like to know if we even have one on the M177 set up. I dont think we do...
