Also some research has yielded that the valves even in Sport Plus or beyond are not fully open at lower RPM's... I might get a valve controller to have the full aggression in even lower rpms.

No such thing as too much - of a good thing
If you find one, let me know. RennTech has one but it’s out of stock until June I believe.
Awesome Pete, I did see the redstar's too but I dont think we can get around the CEL right?
I dont even want to take a chance with the HFC's.
Let me know what RT says about the cans. They did email me a few weeks back "stating" that it will be louder but that I should get the valve controller too since the flaps are not open at lower rpms.

Good suggestion on the Valve Controller! That might be a good place to start...
I love this car, but if definitely needs some more exhaust noise.
I test drove a previous generation GT-R and almost bought that, it was amazing! But it wouldn't have been as good of a daily, it lacked a Heated Steering Wheel and AWD, both nice to have for Chicago Winters, and also the tech on the screens was pretty dated. I really like the features and the tech in this new one, for a daily driver.
But the exhaust sounds on the GT-R were terrific, I need more sounds like that in my GT 55!

1000000 percent, why do they tame such a good thing.
Ill probably start with my tech reviewing the valve actuator next Saturday; to see if he can manually just lock it open vs wasting 800 buck with the RT one. I did this mod with my 992 GTS which has the same rpm neutering and it really made a nice difference.

if you lock it open it will set a code unfortunately.

I sent an email to Mitch at Renntech about both the exhaust and vc... Ill keep you UTD.
I did find this on YT--- videos never do exhausts justice though-
I was going to swing by our local muffler shop who does muffler mods and resonator deletes sometime in the next week....will have them lift her up and see if there are resonators to be removed....and, if so, probably remove them....will report back of course!

Please dooooooooooooooooooooo
When I lowered my car it was on a rack but all those covers were on and I was in rush to go...
Damn! so we can't remove resonators that aren't there (I assume the same for the GT 55 V8).......what are our best options now for more sound? RT exhaust?

Thx for reporting back on this Vic!!
I think thats the only fabricated option --- I think I might straight this fker but the issue is the cel for the valves.
Yes your engine is the same so no res for you too-- sucks
Do you think the RT sound is "good enough" to get? Hard to tell from that video clip.
Wonder if Valvetronic will put out something? Hmmm....
For 3k retail its actually not a lot but is the change material. Their contact said to get that along with the valve controller for the full experience.

So Vic....I sent your racked pic over to my buddy who has put various exhaust systems/res deletes on his BMW...just asked "what he would do"....he thought maybe cut out these 2 areas (see circle pics below)....not sure what these are...or if this would trigger a CEL...but you seem to know more about this stuff than I do....any thoughts?

Thanks!
Those are just flex pipes, they are thru and thru so it would not help at all.
The front ones are the cats and that will trigger a CEL for sure...
Just call me the crash test dummy --- I went to my local exhaust shop who has done alot of resonator and 2nd cat deletes for me on my M's. He doesnt have the cleanest welds but this isnt a beauty contest and I never had any leaks.
Anyways he looked over the rear oem section (mufflers) and said he could create a "Y" design where the valves would remain so I said why not.
What he did was replace the muffler with Y section using a wider inner pipe (no valve) than oem and then split the Y to valve side. How does it sound? MORE of the same great throaty V8 rumble with pops and bangs that are more accentuated. The best way to describe the car is its the same tone but with maybe 25% more decibels or volume UP Its a simple and reversable process too. I still cant get the valves to open fully pre higher rpms (3500 to 4k) as thats a program with the CAN but a VC will fix that. But for the price (350) its worth it to me 100%. I dont think the Renntech mufflers would that much of a gain if this gets me about 25% more with no muffler. Oh no CEL.
Powerwise, zero change in feel although the more free flow could have a tiny gain = negligible at best IMHO. But I didnt do it for that.
AFTER (Valved section is outer) The set up is more of a straight back direction vs the OEM muffler which passes out the side and then back.
