Hi all,

Does anyone know if I can piggyback power from the front dash cam to power a radar detector?
On my GT63 and GLE 63 I had to route a wire from the left side fuse box through the pillar to power the radars, was wondering if there is any way to use the power to the dashcam.

Pretty sure there is power at the rear view mirror.

There is no fuse box on either side upper dashboard facing door like on the AMG GT 63 and GLE 63, I pulled the fuse box diagram from the fuse box inside the trunk and looks like figuring out a way to tap into dashcam would be the easiest way without having to run a wire all over the place

Found an adapter to tap from the 12v rain sensor cable without having to cut any wires, from there 3.5mm to RJ11 and hopefully it works
Parts will arrive tomorrow.

I have Always ordered an adapter like you did. It makes tapping 12v at the mirror simple and clean

I purchased this, and it works perfectly, 5 minutes install.

It doesn't show on the pictures, but the R11 adapter is included, it worked on an Uniden R8.
For the AMG GT you need the 3 Pin
