Any Chance the AMG GT Coupe gets Flat Plane Crack V8
There are rumors abound that AMG is rolling out a Flat-Plane Crank V8 in 2026, possible with an electric motor/hybrid add-on for added performance.
Do we think the 2026 AMG GT 55 or AMG GT 63 will get the flat plane crank engine? Has anyone heard anything?

It's no longer a rumor. It's confirmed. First car to get it will be the CLE 63. The GT might get it with the facelift or if there's an R or Black Series before then.

I have been out of the Benz world for some time because honestly I really only liked the sound of the cars pre hybrid. The driving dynamics and other quirks gave me pause vs the likes of the M Division and Porsche. I only have had my GT63 for a few days so I wont sign off on it as amazing but so far so great.

Oh yes that would be intriguing but for now its only the normal 63 thats gonna get it.

Word on the street is the CLE 63 will come out as part of the facelift of the CLE, but could be earlier. Nothing has been announced yet. Such a course correction takes time.

I have been waiting on the CLE 63 to come out for about a year now, which is what lead me to the GT 55!! Perhaps it will be a MY 2027??

Hopefully they won't put those star headlights and star taillights on the CLE facelift, there are still those of us (I guess minority) that prefer not having those design elements.

I see your point but they have grown on me. I hate those little diamond grills and even worse those little star grills.
