East Coast US Delivery Time

Ordered a GT55. Dealer information shows the car was built March 10. Wondering what other owners have experienced as far as delivery time from build date to a dealer on the East Coast.
This is what my build will look like.

Kept it pretty simple. Upgraded wheels, AMG silver interior trim, driver assist, and front axle lift. Added the back seats since they fold down to give you more useful cargo space. The partition in the back without the rear seats doesn’t fold down.

When did you place your order if I may ask? My dealer is saying my car won’t be ready until October or maybe even November? That’s like six months. Is that right? I’m on the west coast, though.

I'm currently playing the waiting game too! I place my order in January. My GT55 was built February 24, 2026, was on a boat mid March and is currently sitting at the port in Baltimore. I was told on Tuesday that it could be 3 days or 3 weeks to get from the port to my dealer depending on port clearance.

That’s an interesting question. I officially placed my order with the dealer on mid-October, but they were waiting for an allocation slot to open to put my order into the system. That took a few weeks to a month. I got a build date of later in March after it was officially put into the MB system with an allocation slot. The car wound up being built sooner than that date by a couple of weeks. What you might be running into is the change over for the new model year. But, if you look at when I told my dealer that I wanted the car and put down a deposit to time of delivery, it will be about 6 months.

Your’s sounds like you got your order to the dealer right when they had an allocation slot open. Good timing. That’s pretty fast to get the car as I understand.

I used to enjoy that with my 911 and my kids back in the day. Empty nester now. You will miss dropping them off and picking them up when those days are gone. Enjoy these moments for all they are worth.

OP and BLK991Cab - did you end up taking delivery of your cars?

I'm in Toronto and made a deal for a 26 GT55 in early January - the dealer had an allocation already so our timing was great. The car was built in March and left Germany in the second week of April, with an initial ETD to us in late April. I assumed given I'm in Canada that the car was offloaded in Halifax in mid-April, but my dealer emailed me a week ago that it in fact was offloaded in Baltimore (which I gather in itself is not uncommon for cars destined to Canada), but more importantly, it's on hold at the VPC there because of a 'service action required' status. Apparently it's awaiting a part from Germany and there's no ETA. Dealer is not able to get any further info. No idea if I'm waiting just a couple more weeks or months. I was pretty pumped to take delivery right around now so obviously quite disappointed - particularly as the driving season is pretty short here as it is.

I'm still waiting for my car. However, my dealer has not told me anything about the car needing a part. I was told any day now, last week. I was told that my car is in Baltimore as well. Sounds like our cars were built around the same time and most likely on the same boat.

I feel the same way, I'm beyond excited to get the car just a bit disappointed on how long it's taking.

I assume your dealer would be able to see the service action message so fingers crossed you don't have the same issue. Will be curious to hear when you finally get it.
