P06DA00 and P284000 Limp mode in GTS
with the fault codes:P06DA00 - The actuation of the valve of the oil pump in the combustion engine has an electrical fault or open circuit
P284000 - The position sensor or shift fork D has an electrical fault
Went to my local mechanic to do a scan and erased to codes to see if limp mode would be triggered again.
Limp mode was triggered pretty much immediately.
I was told that the P06DA00 could be ignored but the P284000 needed to be diagnosed further.
Did some quick research and found this. So my mechanic may be right?
Is anyone familiar with these codes?
Sent my car to local Mercedes dealership for diagnosis.
A repair on the valve body was suggested. Mercedes offered to replace it under warranty and all I would need to pay for was parts.
In their quote they quoted:
New valve body and parts ~ $9000 AUD (this was covered under warranty)
Labour ~ $5000 AUD
Total paid for job ~ $5000
A whole new valve body was installed.
Repair took about 4 - 6 weeks which I believe most of the wait was waiting for parts.
I've received the car and taken her for a drive. All the shifts through all gears and in all modes Comfort/Sports/Sports + seem to work extremely smoothly. Much smoother than when I last remember, so I'm stoked by this.
However the P06DA00 Fault code still exists and there is still a check engine light still on my car. Merc said, they would need to replace the parts for the oil sensor which estimated costs for part would be about $2800
For now I've decided to leave it.
Interestingly, I had an Xentry scan I found from last year, and the P06DA00 Fault code was there, but I wasn't advised by Mercedes to fix this issue then so I'm still uncertain how serious the issue is.

However, certain engines does trigger CEL, you could install a dummy oil pump solenoid from the outside instead.
