AMG GT-C - What does the C stand for
Has anyone gotten the true meaning of the "C" in GTC? For the convertible, "convertible" would make sense, but for the coupe I feel like "competition" would make more sense - I've also read that it stands for "comfort" but I'm not sure that makes sense given it's still track duty capable.
Side note: Are service centers aware of this trim? I've called two merc dealers and they seemed a little confused by the trim in coupe form.

Do not get frustrated. In traditional Mercedes-Benz and AMG fashion, several model suffixes originate from German internal naming conventions that rarely make intuitive sense to the rest of the world. The “C” in GTC is a prime example. It carries no functional meaning and reflects an internal designation rather than a descriptive attribute.
The GT lineup is produced in both Coupe and Roadster configurations, and these body styles are simply appended to the model description, for example AMG GTC Coupe or AMG GTC Roadster.
The “S” in GTS stands for Sport, and the “R” in GTR denotes Rennsport, which translates to Racing. The “C” in GTC, however, does not denote any performance or body-style characteristic. It is effectively a non-meaningful internal label. At least for us the simple people.

I guess all the confusion was why they reverted back to using numbers like 55 and 63 starting with the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4Matic+ coupé. That said a true two door AMG GT successor isn't out yet there is "only" a SL based GT.

2020 AMG GTC
My last 3 Mercs were verts and have loved them. I don't take my GTC to the track so can't speak to the integrity of the body roll. I love the combination of speed, looks, and the air through my thinning hair
