Dont go cheap and hack up the exhaust
Either buy downpipes and tune or buy an exhaust, or have something fabricated for you that will fit like an OEM

The stock exhaust is great the way it is. Removing the secondary resonators wouldn’t be “hacking”. You get the exact sound an octave lower and about another 7-10 dB. And this simple mod is reversible.

And the dp gains are not strong enough nor worth the install (subframe pull etc) and require "hacking".
Resonator pull is just fine.

No drone on the GT/GTS car, not sure about the GT-R.
Mike: congrats on the GTS. If you just look under the car, you will see the two resonators right after the pipes bend from the engine to follow the transmission in the front. Any exhaust shop can do this for a few hundred quids and it's an easy reversal.

Try it and if you don’t like you can put back. But my car sounds exactly the way I want and as Emeric stated no drone whatsoever.

Stock resonators - before
During
After removal- piped
This is one of the two resonators labeled Sebring (interesting). They weigh 4.4 pounds each.

would be interested to know how it sounds now? I went to a local tuner and he mentioned the sound is louder but on the high pitch side, for those who prefer that, I prefer more growly (deeper) sound that comes from my Z06 engine.

Case, can you take a picture of the inside of the resonators along with a flashlight. Curious as to exactly what it looks like!
thx !

Sure— the inside look.

That is not a resonator, its another catalytic converter downstream from the primary ones that are integrated into the down tubes. There have been other threads on this too I believe.

People call them secondary "resonators" because it's illegal to remove any catalytic converters on a vehicle in the US. With that being said, I've never heard of anyone actually caught or fined for it, but most shops won't remove secondary cats if you call them secondary cats.
