AMG Logo on Steering Wheel

AMG Logo on Steering Wheel
I am loving my GT. I also love the AMG Affalterbach logo; I have it on my wheel center hubs. I unfortunately scratched my steering wheel MB Star, I think I hit it with my seat belt. Since the MB Star is basically plastic, there was really nothing I could do short of replacing the airbag (which would be silly). Fortunately I found an AMG Affalterbach logo for the steering wheel. It is a thin metal and adheres with 3M backing. I actually like it, it gives a different look to the steering wheel! My son said you can see that star on any $30k Mercedes, this is different.

How do you remove it if you don't like it? Looking at an S Class coupe with it and would want the Mercedes Star back. Would it come off with a hair dryer and later goo gone? Looks like it is on the start stop button as well.

these look very cool, but when the airbag is deployed that piece is going to get launched at you with substantial force.
dont want to be a party pooper but its really dangerous. insurance can void the whole accident
use at your own risk
the star is connected to the cover, thats the safest option. find one that attaches to the airbag instead of gluing it on

I agree with this assessment. Don't apply anything on the airbag surface!
This is just common sense.

On that note I just had to have the airbag cover replaced our old Mazda 3 under recall because they said the Mazda logo could shatter and cause injury when the airbag deployed.

mercedes should really do the same. the way the airbag tears 9 out of 10 times doesnt effect the star. but that one time when it does the star literally explodes

i understand that mercedes tested themselves. but in the off chance that someone can have a piece of the star embeded in their face...that should be enough in my opinion
the newest airbag mercedes have is completely different than anything they have had in the past. the last truely safe deployment was on w205 prefacelift. the tear points are around the star itself far enough where it doesnt effect the star by any means.
the only thing the op has to worry about is his stick on emblem launching at his or her body during an accident
