Colour change under the bonnet

Mercedes Amg Gts Diamond white/pearl 2015 32000 miles so only had the car 2 weeks, anyway when I whent to inspect the car it was just starting to get dark as the garage where I purchase was a fair distance from my city so to cut along story short I’ve noticed under the bonnet the white has a hint of red to it,i was told this is normal as heat from the engine has caused some chemical reaction to the pearl paint under the engine compartment,so my question is has anyone else out there come across this please or can advise me on what to do.any advise would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

Wow! Very unusual. I wonder if the paint is curing and having an oxidation reaction or small amount of red got mixed in. Never seen anything like it...Definitely should be a warranty issue...

Dear God it hasn’t had a re-spray has it? Do you have a copy of the window sticker to make sure it wasn’t originally red?

Wait a minute! If you look at the bolts, they have paint on top of them. They should be black or silver. I would say the car has been painted. No chance heat caused this...

From those pics all the bolts have tool marks on them. The whole front end has been taken off for some reason, at some point

Take some window cleaner or light compound with you and test a small area to see if it comes off.

Is any of the red color on other areas under the hood?

Is it somewhat greasy to the touch or dry?
If its greasy it could be radiator coolant or windshield washer cleaner from a blown hose or connection.

Check the service record history to see what has been done and where.

Are you in Europe? I ask because you say this is a 2015 model.

If you don’t feel comfortable walk away. There are other cars.

FWIW I have a diamond white GTR and don’t have any paint difference whatsoever under the hood so their comment about engine heat is as they say in the US
BULL SH.t!!

Good luck!!

Jerry

Yes they are correct color but should not have tool marks on them unless the front end has been disassembled. Even the hood bolts have tool marks. I'd almost bet money it has been wrecked at some point.

take the car to a reputable body shop or detailing shop and have them depth gauge the paint in several locations to compare. You should be able to readily tell.

IMHO you need to get your money back. I agree with others that there’s a high likelihood it has been wrecked/rebuilt

Where are you located? Were any representations made to you about the condition of the vehicle?
