So can a Euro Comand+phone (Nokia 63031i) in a US car be configured to do SMS/WAP/Internet?

Yes... take a look at this picture. SMS is called "MAIL" on the Euro COMAND screen. WAP is called... WAP.

That's a W211 COMAND. If you had specific models in mind you might have mentioned that in your first post! My response probably will not apply to your new question, sorry.Originally Posted by Expat

Dean,
If I buy the Euro command for my 2005 SL55, can I get those features? Also, I notice the Bluetooth is active in yours. Any chance a bluetooth keyboard would work for typing messages?
BTW, when are you and/or Steve coming to Hawaii? Should we start looking for people who want installs?

I believe those features are available on the EU-spec COMAND for the SL... I would have to go boot one up to double check.Originally Posted by jeffreyy

Bluetooth is only in combination with UHI... so you get that menu only with UHI (WAP too). I think the only bluetooth devices that actually work are headsets. For instance, I tried a BT mouse and it didn't do anything.

I thought Steve sent you a rough schedule of when we have times?

Dean,
Nope. Actually I haven't heard anything since the 12th and it was from Wanda. I think Steve must be travelling. I'm really looking forward to having you guys out. I can try to drum up other installs if you guys are interested.

You might want to try a keyboad though. It might not have the ability to have a mouse pointer but perhaps keyboard input for SMS messages would work. It might be nice to have something like this in the center console for when you need to send an SMS message.Originally Posted by scorchie
