How to change a battery in the Smart Key?

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to change a battery in my smartkey. Can anyone please give me some pointers? I don't even know how to begin. Is ther a step by step instruction available somewhere?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Remove the mechanical key from your smart key
Inside the slot you just exposed by removing the mechanical key, you'll see a gray piece of plastic.
Hold your smart key with the panic button facing you and down
Take your mechanical key and press the gray plastic piece to the left.
With the gray plastic piece moved left (it's spring loaded) get your thumbnail into the seam at the top of your smartkey
Slide the removable section out, and viola - there is your battery!
Technically, I would think not as it is a wear and tear item. However, when you bring in the car for service, you can ask for a new battery and see what happens. A nice dealer may just throw it in. It's not as if a battery would break the bank.
