Alpine System

So, the past few days I've been thinking about building a alpine system in my 1990 300E.

I was thinking about getting these, after hearing how it sounds and playing with it, I have to admit I'm really interested.

First off with the headunit. I was thinking about the new Alpine CDA-9853 and then getting the Ipod Adapter for it. Looks good and I like it. I would get a pioneer, but I'm really not feeling the style and features Pioneer puts on their headunits now.

As for speakers, subs and amps. I was thinking about these. Keep in mind, all are Alpine. The front will be the SPX-137R, 5-1/4" Component 2-Way kit. Where could the tweeters be mounted? Anyways, for the rear SPS-130A..5-1/4" Type-S Series Coaxial 2-Way Speaker. Sucks having small speakers. Anyways, for the sub and amp. I thought and decided the 4channel would be best after hearing the comparison of the 2channel vs the 4. Product number MRV-F345 for the amp and one 12" subwoofer with box.

Here are the product links.

Is there any information I need to know or is this system pretty much done? I don't really know anything at all when it comes to car audio. I would just like a clear sounding system which can pretty much bump. I checked around and I can get everything for posisbly 900-1000. Let me know what I should do!

first off, are you bound to alpine? because there's quite a good bit of other stuff you could look into. elemental designs makes amazing sound system stuff for amazing prices...subs, speakers, and amps. I have their edi 6500 component speaker set...and they blow the type X's out of the water. you could also check out mb quart speakers....hifonics for your amps....or even JL...a bit pricey, but i'd prefer them to alpine for speakers and subs....(alpine's been tending to go downhill recently it seems)
as for tweeter mounting, you can easily put them up in the dash speaker locations...the woofers in the doors. If you decide to amp your speakers externally (which i highly recommend), you may want to reconsider putting in rear speakers. 1) it will improve your frontstage imaging and 2) more air movement will pass in from the trunk....especially since i believe the gas tank is in the back of the trunk on that model car (i maybe mistaken?)
anyway, that's my 2 cents

If you thing about getting an Alpine HU then you might wan to check out the CDA-9855. Its pretty much the same as the 9853 but with way more controls. I just put one in, that Glide Touch is a little hard to get used to but with a little practice you'll get used to it. 6 days and I'm getting the hang of it. Its on sale at BestBuy this week for $404.
