Ipod Kits now available!!!
Ipod kits are available for the 2005 C-Class. I have (arrives tomorrow) a 2005 C55. I ordered my Ipod kit Wednesday. It arriverd Thursday. Getting it installed on Monday. I was quoted 2 hrs labor.
Getting it installed at Euro Motorcars in Bethesda MD. Funny thing is I called HBL before calling Euro and they said they were not available.

The dealerships were just sent a notification.
Btw, the notification also says it takes 1 hour of labour (thats what my part guy told me).
E and CLS are to be released sometime in August.

Got mine 2 weeks ago - works as advertised, I'm glad I got it, but Manhattan MB called back to say it would be 2 hrs as they needed to pop the head unit so it came out to around $500 all told. Ouch! But once the pain wore off I was happy I did it. Being able to control the unit via steering wheel buttons and see info displayed in the instrument panel is worth a lot. You're effectively driving around with a hard drive in your glove compartment. Sounds good through the on-board audio, and I only got the stock system. Now if I only had COMAND GPS Navigation I'd be the happiest camper...

- Title doesn't scroll in the display
- cannot show artist in the display, unless I haven't figured out how to do it
Maybe I oughta RTFM a little more thoroughly. My gadget-freak computer literate girlfriend did the other day while a passenger, and it was quite an eye-opener. You can access the full memory via the steering wheel buttons, for instance.
I'll post any updates. Any comments from fellow MBWorldies with kit experience are welcome in the meantime.

I've had my iPod connection for about a week and it's great. I have the same issue re: Artist cannot be displayed and the only ifo is the song title. I have the iPod with the click wheel (2nd Gen) and I wonder if that's the issue. I'd be a very happy guy if I had access to more info since the iPod's window is disabled when attached. I'm also able to play mp3s and AACs in my changer. Again only the song title is displayed.
Mine cost $500 installed.
