Euro Command vs. 2004 US Command

Hi everyone, this is my first post here.

I have been thinking about getting a Command system put in my 2002 C320.

I have been in touch with MBenzNL, and I need to make a decision. Do I get the Eurospec or a 2003 or 2004 US Unit. I am aware of the differences between the Euro and US Commands but no sure of the differences between the 2003 and 2004 US Commands. Can anybody explain these to me?

Also would love to hear from some people about the Euro version if they are using it in the US.(especially Chicago) I was leaning toward the euro version, but wanted to make sure I'd still be able to get some AM reception.

Thanks,
Matt

I have a Euro Comand 2.0 in my C36 here in Chicago, well western 'burbs at least. AM reception is relatively poor. A scan will find no stations, you will need to enter them manually. The only reason to get a Euro unit is if you are installing in a non-CANBUS vehicle or want video enabled. If AM is important to you, I would recommend a US Comand.

............the information you need is whether or not your car has MOST or D2B circuit. I believe the 2002 C-class is still D2B. Then you need to know if the 2004 Comand supports most or D2B. If it supports MOST, then you will probably not be able to install it in your car withou significant modifications. If your car is still D2B, then you not need a EUro unit, just get regular Comand 2.0 and have it version coded for Tv. The only difference is that your Tc menu will be in German. Am reception is very poor in mercedes benz vehicles generally. It is worse in Comand units and even worse in Euro Comand units installed in North America.

some slow@$$diesels
2003 US comand is D2B
2004 US comand is D2B

the difference between the 2004 US spec comands and the pre 2004 US spec comands (for the W203) is that the 2004 supports satelite radio and the pre 2004s do not.
