Teleaid impacted by cell-analog EOL?

Teleaid impacted by cell-analog EOL?
Was in Verizon Wireless in the Northeast to get a new phone for my daughter, when the sales rep mentioned that analog cell service was going away after the 1st of the year (1/2006).
Had me thinking -- how does Teleaid connect to MB? It sure sounds like an older analog cell phone behind the scenes...
Anyone know? Does it use analog commercial carriers? I would think Teleaid, Onstar, etc. would all be impacted if the network was going down...

Older cars use AT&T analog
My '00 E430 uses an AT&T provided analog network which I'm told by the TeleAid folks will be up through the end of '07. After that an equipment update will be required to covert it to digital. No word on cost of conversion or even wither a kit will be available for older cars like mine. Stay tuned....
