Voice Recognition kits

Does anyone know where I can get a voice recognition kit for a 2002 SLK 320? Dealer told me that Mercedes is no longer selling any phone/kits for the old D2B fiber system.

I see them on eBay - just type in voice recognition on ebay motors.

Also you might try emailing Manny at got-ur-cell@***.net. I got my mibox, cradle and pse from him for reasonable prices. If he doesn't have one, he will know where to get one.

depending on which one you get, it can control the radio, cd changer, and phone system or just the phone system

Are there different models? I know the one on my SL500 controls the radio, phone, and CD player. So what does the VRM that you get from Mercedes control on a SLK320?

I know that the PTT lever on a 2004 SL500 has more pictures on it than the one on a 2002 SLK320. So why are there different PTT levers?

I think it is worth it when driving at high speeds, because you can touch the PTT lever when you get a call or say dial someone. It is safer because you do not have to search for buttons on the radio.

The cost is relative on how much is safety worth to you. Some people think it is a waste of money and others like me see the safety value of it.

Going high speeds and trying to get your VRM to do what you want is almost impossible. Its not that great and definately not worth the money. Thats just my opinion. I have it on my car, but i never use it. and if i do, i am just showing off to my friends.....

It works great on my 2004 SL500 when I do about 80MPH on the Interstate. I use the VRM a lot and do have some bad days with the VRM. But over all, I am very please with the VRM and would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends.

The question is; what are we willing to pay for worthless stuff. Everybody will have a different answer. I lot of people will say paying 100K for a 2-seater is a waste of money.
