Aftermarket Audio Steering Wheel Interface
I was just talking to an car audio specialist and he showed me this little interface unit by Peripheral. I can't remember the name of it but it was something like "pismix" or "pasmix".
He said it will interface most Alpine headunits and several other good brandname headunits with the steering wheel functions. He said it is imported from the U.S. so I would assume some of you guys in the U.S. would have heard of it.
Costs about AUD250 installation $120. Its about 10cm x 5-8cm.
Has anyone heard of it and will it do what it says? I am assuming maybe not because, as far as I can recall, no one has mentioned it here.

Except for the 99 S-class, they have nothing for any MB newer than 1998.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Of course, no one has built such a device since it would require months of developer time (costing thousands of dollars) and would be a product you could only sell to a very limited market. How much would you pay for such an interface? $1000? You would need at least 10 other people willing to pay $1000 to justify the development expenses.
Suppose you get a few wealthy Mercedes owners together and decide to hire a young recent electrical engineering university graduate willing to work for next to nothing with the goal of trying to develop this device. Perhaps then, you could build something that would work. However, you might also end up spending a bunch of money and getting nowhere.

Still don't understand why it's such a big deal to move your right hand 4", but the Blau might be a happy medium for those that need to have remote control.
