Command System For 2001 E-Class
I have looked and searched for some useable info on upgrading the stock audio system in the 2001 E420 W210 to the optional Command System. I was talked out of it when I purchased my car but would like to have it installed. I do not really want to butcher up my car with an aftermarket system if at all possible. The best info I have found so far is at http://www.megacomm.de but it is in german and even with a translator I am dumbfounded.
Any help is appreciated.

JohnAMG can help you. He was able to retrofit a COMAND system into his E55 with full integration including the steering wheel controls. I'm presently doing this with my CLK. First thing you need to do is find a COMAND System, you can find them in ebay.de. Good luck.
