Mercedes V710 VS Verizon RAZR over BT
Hey Guys,
I'm having the MHI kit installed this Monday and will receive the BT adapter from AWS this Friday. Currently I am using a Samsung i730 (which I believe will not work with the MB BT adapter). I've read on the forum the Verizon RAZR works with the BT adapter (even with the .03 firmware version). But I'm looking for full functionality, meaning phonebook download and call waiting, etc. I know that the RAZR is a cooler phone but I'm worried about compatibility. If you guys have some experience with this, could you please shed some light on this issue?
So basically can anyone clarify if the Verizon RAZR has full functionality like the Mercedes V710 over Bluetooth?
I'm looking for full phonebook download, caller ID, and call waiting (being able to switch over when someone else is calling).
Thanks a lot!

i have the verizon e815... i was lookin at verizon razr, but the new verizon menu which they have put on it, makes me dislike the phone... i mean its a nice phone, except verizon wanted to "help" people when the time comes to swtich phones with a standard menu... instead i wish they gave you the option, because i believe motorola menus are far superior... as for the MB v710, i heard if you get an MB phone, you lose some reception...

Ohhh by the way, how is the e815 working out for you? Does it fully integrate with the car via BT? Can you answer call waiting calls (if you're on the phone and someone else calls, you can swtich back and forth between callers)? Do you get phonebook download and caller ID? Thanks.

Not with the MB BT, but with my Parrot BT, my Verizon RAZR is flashed with Alltel .04 filmware. I have no issue pairing with the Parrot's and phonebook sync without problem. Also, I didn't have any problem before flashing either. I just didn't like the Verizon's ui. The Verizon's V710 is OBEX disabled. However, I have no idea on the MB's V710.

I have the MB BT and an unlocked RAZR V3i (the one not sold in us with iTunes). It works fine, address book downloads, but have not tried call waiting on it. From what I understand the MB BT doesn't support call waiting, that has to be done on the phone, but I could be wrong. My service provider is Cingular and I have no clue what firmware version is on the phone.

i have the RAZR v3i which is not sold in the US. It is the international one, i got it off eBay from some company in NY. Save your time and energy and just get an unlocked RAZR off eBay and then you can use it on any provider and not be tied to the service contracts.

Verizon has me tied down. I don't think I can ever switch from Verizon. They gave me too many bonus minutes too keep me around. I get 500 bonus anytime minutes above my calling plan. Also, you can't beat EV-DO in which I'll use the RAZR as a EV-DO Broadband modem for my laptop. I'm going to create a new thread for MB BT compatibility.
