bluetooth questions

Okay, so I have read most of the posts regarding bluetooth. I have a 2005 ML 500.

If I want to do the new BT dongle that is out I also have to order the MHI phone kit correct? If that is the case then do get bt in my car would be pretty pricey.

Does anyone have any experience with http://www.eurocarphone.com/mercedes.htm?

From reading all these posts, I believe as long as your car came with a V60 setup, you're good to go.

Thumbs down Mercedes Puck

Yeah, the puck only works with the newest V60 and with a limited number of phones. I want to choose my own phone and provider (b/c only certain phones are supported, that limits your provider choice).

I have Argos and it works well with my Blackberry and my husband's Razr.

morrow95 - i got my Bluetooth Argos system from http://www.EuroCarPhone.com and they were extremely knowledgable and helpful. There is a 30 day, no questions asked return policy and the system has a 1 year warranty.

Not much to lose by trying it....they won't sell it to you if your phone is not compatible.

If you want total integration with the car then get the Mercedes MHI/voice recognition/bluetooth option. I ordered my car with MHI/voice package and added the Mercedes BT module after and the cost was $1750( $1400 for the MHI and $350 for the BT module) My phone is Verizonwireless MotoE815 and it works great and the phonebook download in seconds too. Mercedes BT is much better than the Lexus BT also, but it does cost a small fortune. I look at it like this, if I am spending $60-90K for a car, another $1700 isn't going to kill me. And you can maximize the usage and the design for your car.
