Full UHI List

Does anyone have a link towards a site that contains the latest list of UHI's that are available?

There was a link on here towards a German site that listed everything in PDF, but I've been unable to find it. If anyone can repost that link or a better one then I would be most grateful.

Looking to upgrade, but of course I want to keep using my car kit.

AWS Bluetooth - QQ

In reviewing the forum, I *think* I'm clear on something but wanted to me sure. If missed it somewhere on the forums, let me know.

The AWS team tells me the bluetooth interface comes out this month. Do I read correctly that like other interfaces currently available, you'll have to buy the hands free option and then plug it into the dock? Or, do I not understand and in fact, it will be directly plugged into COMAND and you don't need hands-free installed?

thx, j

The hands-free system is always required first. The Bluetooth Module then can plug in place of a cradle in the center console.

And, can someone clarify whether the AWS Bluetooth system can be used with a UHI hands-free system, or is it specific to the MHI and older US Motorola systems?

Thanks

MHI (Multi-Handset Interface) and UHI (Universal-Handset Interface) are the same, the first is the US sales name and the second the European sales name. This system is the new worldwide MB system from MY 2005 up. The Bluetooth Interface Module (P/N B67875839) is the upgrade you want for this system.

The previous system to MHI/UHI was the V60 Hands-Free Communication System. It was US specific and is compatible with the "Puck" V60 Bluetooth Cradle Adaptor (P/N B67875856). With few exceptions, the V60 HFCS ran from '02 to '04 and the Puck is a great way to retrofit this older system for current Bluetooth handsets.

AWs sells both Bluetooth part numbers and corresponding approved retail handsets. If you just need one of the Bluetooth part numbers, you can go to your local MB dealer too.

Prior to V60 HFCS, was Timeport and StarTAC HFCS in the US. Upgrading these older systems with factory parts is unofficial MB and an expensive trial and error exercise. A decent aftermarket kit makes more sense instead.

I could not find the UHI Bluetooth Module on ebay.
Do you know where I buy one and for what Price?

Do you know if a puck for the Nokia 6310 (Bluetooth module that fits into my Nokia 6310 UHI cradle) will be made available?

Thanks,
migabc

If you have a UHI (MHI sales name in the US) system in your car, you're in luck. Contact a US MB dealer and ask him to order part number B67875839. It clicks in place of your UHI Nokia cradle on the UHI connector in your center console and the installation is complete with no tools.

Note that the MHI Bluetooth Interface Module is only sold in the US at this point.

adding bluetooth to C230

I didn't understand all that was involved with adding a phone system to the car and bought the bluetooth unit for $350 from the online official supplier thinking I would just have to remove the cover in the armrest and snap it on.... After talking with the dealer I now understand I need parts Q-6-82-0965 and Q-6-82-0907 for $625 and $165. they also want $575 to install. Does anyone know how hard it is to do yourself and if part are available anywhere for less?

Yes, I have a UHI Nokia 6310 cradle in my car.
So this Bluetooth Interface Module (B67875839) that clicks into the UHI Nokia 6310 cradle (replacing the phone itself) is exactly what I looking for.
Do you know why it's only available in the US? Will it work on a EURO E Class UHI Nokia 6310 cradle?
From where in the US can I order it from?

Once in place will this Bluetooth Module be able to interface with any GSM phone that supports Bluetooth?
Will I still have all the phone features I curently have with my old Nokia 6310, example:

PhoneBook Download
Call List Download
Conf call
SMS Download
DTMF Tones
Signal Strength Indicator
Speed Dial
etc.

The MHI Bluetooth Interface is not installed in the cradle, it replaces the cradle. Just push the little release button down on your cradle and slide it back and off of the UHI connector. Then click on the Bluetooth interface.

I'm not sure why it's not sold in Europe, it's made by Peiker, the same manufacturer for all MB UHI cradles. Maybe because it only offers phonebook download with Motorola phones?

The Bluetooth interface will try to work with all Bluetooth phones but only the Motorola ones will provide Phonebook download at this piont. SMS viewing is not possible with any phone. Motorola V3 RAZR and SLVR are both approved for the interface and work very well.

You'll have to contact a US MB dealer to buy the Bluetooth module it's $350 retail.

Installtion time is about 1.5 hours and pretty straight forward. I'd shop around a few dealers to get a better install quote. While you can install it yourself, you'll still need a dealer to use the service diagnostic tool to program the new MOST bus configuration.

Thank you very much for the clear and explicit information. It would be nice if the Bluetooth module had a wider range of supported phones, but at least now I have some flexibility.
