Is there any information about the availability of the IPOD integration kit for the SL550? I recently purchased one and the dealer mentioned it should be available shortly and was wondering if there was any more "specific" knowledge.

Does the SL550 have an aux plug in the glove box?

I know they stopped putting them in there a few years back, but maybe they changed things for 2007. Having an AUX input would make it easy.

There will be no factory Ipod kit for the '07 SL550 because it has no AUX input (the headunit is a carryover from last year). The only solution is to go aftermarket.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I think they took out the AUX input when the NAV went DVD.

Whats the latest on the Dension/Ice Ipod kit that hooks up to the MOST fiber optics? There's a pic of playlists on an SL NAV on the , but no one has confirmed this. ICE

UPDATE: Just called them and they say no text support on the NAV. Wonderful.

What is meant by "no text support"? The unit shown on the front page shows song info - does this mean that nothing will show up?

Now I understand after calling DICE - the unit is basically worthless! It will display track# / folder# - ie, nothing useful is displayed. I have been looking into the Dietz unit - does anyone have any experience with these? I have scanned their site (www.dietz.biz) and find some small amount of information, but its not clear what models are actually supported. My car is a 2007 SL550, which apparently has no AUX, thus requiring a direct MOST connection. From what I've read, it appears that the Dietz unit has several cables that connect to several buses, including MOST.

I assumed what they meant was that there was no text on the Nav or instrument panel display...even though there is a picture of it on their website. Looks like false advertising.

We need to hear from someone who actually gets the unit and see from them what it can do. Im not going to get it until I know for sure.

Im in a similar situation with 2007 SL55...no Aux and MOST fiberoptics. I know nothing of Dietz. I suspect it is difficult to integrate with MB NAV but maybe a german company like Dietz can do it if anyone can.
