question on cell phone upgrade for 2000 S500
Hi all, does anyone know if i can upgrade my old motorola cell phone(the one came with the car) to any other brand of cell phone? thanks

Yes, and the 2000 MB hands-free system integration is still fantastic even compared to other manufacturer's current systems.
To upgrade your system for use with new handsets you can go aftermarket with the Mikbox or Argos system. You can also use MB factory parts for the upgrade and you'll need the MB puck, a V60 cradle, and a new V60 compatible PSE.
Contact some local shops in your area to see what they recommend and to get ideas on pricing.

can i have more details on the mikbox or the bluetooth route? i mean, what is mikbox or where to buy? and what kind of bluetooth system to buy? i thought 2000 s500 does not have bluetooth.... thanks

The site tells you everything you need to go. You probably will need to update your linear compensator to dual band, which is what I'm considering because I have quite a bit of static with the Motorola v557 phone I bought (apparently a function of GSM phones, I was told).
I love the setup. It's easy to install, and it's very nice to be able to use the MB integrated phone system. Good luck.
