Sat Radio Install Assistance

Hey all,

I'm attempting to add a Sirius SAT module and SDAR antenna to my 02 c240. I have US Comand w/ SAT button so it should work but I don't have pre wiring and the antenna plugs won't fit directly into the unit. Can I just get extensions?

Also I got the unit to power up and connected temporarily directly to the Comand and pressing the SAT button did not work, do I need to access star diagnostics, or is it imperative to put the SAT module 'after' the CD changer in the fiber optic loop.

Any help is appreciated,
TB

The receiver should have a loop of cable that connects to the two antenna cables. In a prewired car, you just leave the loop coiled up near the receiver. You can get an adapter to use an antenna with a single cable.

You also need to place the receiver in the proper part of the MOST loop, or unreliable operation can occur. I don't know if that is also true for D2B.

You do need to program the head unit with STAR Diag so the soft keys become active when SAT is pushed.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, I went through the Comand Diagnostics and SAT is connected and working. Since you live in the OC know anywhere I can go other than a dealer to get star to recognize SAT They got me for $90 to activate my nav a couple years ago (MB laguna niguel)

Thanks again

$90 To activate navi isn't to bad, they charged you less than an hour of labor.

Haha, it took the tech 10 mins (5 of which to roll the cart out), maybe I expect too much
