Looking for Timeport and VR Owners Manuals
I just had the MB Timeport and VR accessories added to my C230k. The shop that did it did not have the manuals for either the phone or voice module and was wondering if anyone might have a 'spare' copy or know of a web location where they might be posted?
If you have a spare copy I will be glad to pay the postage to have you mail them to me.
Or, if I remember correctly they were posted on the dealer MB phone web site (but, I can't find the logon for this anymore) - if anyone has this can you send it to me.
Thanks,
Ken

Ken, if you really want the VR manual, I will make copies for you. The manual is next to useless if you already know how to operate the VR system.
If you would like a list of commands, I could post those as well.

Thanks, but I already know most of the voice commands from using the VR help system. What I'm looking for are the 'how to use it' stuff. For instance, how do I program pauses for voicemail systems, which memory locations on the phone download to the car, can I use multiple MB handsets, how do I know if I get any text or voice messages on the phone - stuff like that.
I will answer the ones I know off the top of my head.
I think the first 99 memory locations are downloaded to the COMAND system upon docking the phone. I might be wrong, but I think 99 was the # I was told.
You can not program Pause and Wait commands from COMAND. I think you need to do this in your phones internal phone book and then they will carry over to COMAND. If you find out differently, let me know.
You can use multiple MB handsets as long as they are of the same type that will fit in the cradle and of course are Mercedes branded.
If you get a text message you will see a Mail (Envelope) icon on your COMAND display.
If you get voice mail, no icon is displayed (Stupid), however with the Timeports your radio/CD will mute every so often. With the V60 I set up a tone alert so that it plays a tone allowing me to instantly know I have voicemail.
Anything else you would like to ask ? I'd be happy to look it up for you, however, as stated, the Mercedes manuals are pretty weak. The VR manual is useless. Saying HELP to the VR system will tell you almost everything that is in the VR manual.
The COMAND manual does a terrible job of explaining the Telephone functions. They make it rather confusing as well.
About the only decent manual is the one for the actual handset which is of course made and written by Motorola.
"If you get voice mail, no icon is displayed (Stupid), however with the Timeports your radio/CD will mute every so often. With the V60 I set up a tone alert so that it plays a tone allowing me to instantly know I have voicemail."
I have urned on the 1 beep (and trird the 3 beep) notification in the Timeport phone. The handset will beep properly (when not in the cradle), but it doesn't beep either thru the handset or the audio system when plugged into the car. Is there something else that needs to be setup for this???
BTW, I do not have Command in this car, it's a 2002 C230K with the standard radio.
Thanks...
