Stock Alarm
Does the stock alarm on an 2000 s500 only work when you lift the car or does it also work when someone tries to break in or brakes a window?
Im thinking about buying a new alarm, should i buy another more advanced one or should i keep this one?
Any advice would be appreciated.

It will work if someone tows your car opens a door or hood or trunk as well. It also disables the engine control unit. Buying an aftermarket alarm will not help you. You can add a factory interior motion sensor if you want to protect the contents with windows open or glass breakage.
