Proud new owner of an '01 S500 with a broken CD changer. Is it possible to play a single CD in the player that has the Navigation CD? Currently, the comand system does not recognize an audio CD.

 

yes you can play CD's in the Comand Single CD Player.

 

When I hit the CD button on the console, the display says "Activating CDC ...Please Wait" then displays "No Magazine". If I hit the CD button again, the display says "CD Player is turned off." And I can't seem figure out how to "turn it on."

when you hit the cd button on the comand , two things will come up, one will say either CD IN Drive or No CD In Drive, and the bottom portion will say Loading Changer Magazine....., or CD Changer not present.

 

Unfortunately, I'm getting neither of those messages ("CD IN" or "No CD In Drive") you mentioned. Just the ones I detailed into my previous message. I did speak to a service guy at my local dealer who remakred that you cannot play an audio CD in the drive - seemed odd, hence my posting to this forum.

If not, then I guess I'll wait for the new DICE link iPod hookup.

 

the comand 2.0 you can play Audio CD's in the drive, I am pretty sure in a Comand 2.5 can play audio cd's.....

 

I cannot play audio CDs in my '00 NAV drive, and I do not believe anyone else can either. If your CD changer in the trunk is not working have your dealer look at it. I had to have mine replaced a few years ago.

 

Not so, Husk. The console drive in COMAND 2.5 is for nav CD only.
