w211 w7 or other sub
I want a w7 8 inch or 10 inch. Is there a better sub out there? I prefer it being sort of loud. Also what amp would I need and how can i tie it into my car. I have an 03 e320 with HK sound.
Another thing, I think the speakers are semi loud, but they are only about 80% as loud as I want them. I can put it all the way up with out it bothering my ears. Is there a way to upgrade the speakers to make it louder, with out sacrificing SQ?

If you stay with a W7 and have at least 500W go with 8W7. Don't forget to add a cap to fortify power needs of the amp.
If you upgrade all the way around and stay with your HK headunit you will need a JL Cleansweep module.

You then upgrade your speaker separates mith multiple amps or a multichannel amp.

What other brand good amps can I hook up to a w7 8" I work at Circuit city and We don't carry JL nor does my brother in law's shop.
And how do I tie it to the current system.
That cleansweap is a good idea, but it may be too drastic just to make the speakers a bit louder.

non best buy Rockford is good... also look at some of the alpine stuff you DO get a discount on. I used to work at Best buy and let me tell you, even though that JL stuff will sound better. The Discount can not be beat, just by some Alpine subs for less then half the price of the JL equipment and be done with it

get a alpine type R 12, and a 500-700w amp...you'll be good to go. esp. with a discount, otherwise i saw alpine Type R subs on ebay for 130 bucks...thats still a good price for a competition sub.

I could vouch for the Alpine Type-R! I installed one in my ex's car by mounting it in a ported box fed by an Orion 4002 amp. Set the gain only halfway and the car shook like a ****!!! Amp, sub, and box materials ran no more than $350!

I already bought the JL 500/1 amp, for about 220 used. I'm trying to get the W7 discounted... I'll see what happens. imma hold of on that clean sweep or rockford 360 for a while now. i wanna get the navigation, back up camera and dvd, first. none which i get a discount for.
BTW Circuit don't sell JL or alpine. we sell kicker, MTX, boston acoustics, polk,

There is no best sub, you need to find some in your price range, research about them and figure out which is best for you. There are countless companies who charge by name and how good the product looks. Others are focused on performance.

Back to this topic I get polk audio SR6500 and SR124 about 67% off retail. Straight from polk audio, you guys now anythig about them? They are supposed to very good SQ stuff, but that's what they say. What does anyone who auditioned them next to focal, mb quart, and jl say?

Focals sound nice, but the 500$ ones sounded really muddy next to the polk signature reference. not to mention i get the signature references for less half price.
