K40 bluetooth constantly going off

I had the front/rear k40 bluetooth system with Laser difussors installed by the MB dealer a few weeks ago and I am constantly pressing the remote to silence it. I never use highway mode since I dont want any further false alarms. I may get a period of 5 minutes of city driving with it not going off.

Could it be defective? Is it normal for this thing to stay on for 50 seconds or longer and go off constantly? Occasionally it will stay on long enough that the audio will stop but the blue blinkers keep on blinking.

It seems like the detector picks up every signal known to man. Unless this thing is broke It is really unusuable for me.

Anyone else find this thing going off for false alarms way too much?

Thanks for the reply:
I should have mentioned that is installed in my new GL not the S. The dealer would not install it in the distronic car.
The GL does not have distronic.

Thanks

I had the calibre k40 installed two weeks ago and so far it,s been great. It doesn't seem to false any more or less than my Valentine which was hard wired in my SL. So far I would endorse it. I have no way of knowing if the diffuser is working or not. Sure hope so. I would certainly have the installer guys look it over and test it before you give up on it. The latest reviews say the falsing problem they had in the past has been corrected.

OK thanks.
Maybe they gave me the older model. I'll bring it back to them to look at.
