Bypass amp 1989 300se
I have just had a new JVC Head unit installed in place of the failed original Becker. The good news is I can now hear the radio from the right rear and left dash speaker. The bad news is it's accompanied by the sound of crickets coming from the left rear speaker and elsewhere. The guy who installed it said the amp could could be bypassed to solve the problem, as I am no audiophile and just want to have sound minus the cricket noise.
Being the broke *** student that I am, I wondered how difficult it would be for me to bypass the amps myself. I am a novice with this sort of thing, but I have access to tools and am willing to learn. Is it just a case of patching the cables coming into and out of the amps together, or is it a lot more complicated than that?
Thanks
Peter Wilson
