Automatic shutdown of Comand

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the automatic shutdown of the Comand after 30min?

Thanks.

I don't think that there is. It is a battery saving feature that is built in and the standard radio does it too. If you find something different please post.

That’s what I thought, but wanted to make sure. It’s a good feature to have, but it gets annoying.

Uh, why would you need your COMAND at the drive-in? Phoning someone for instructions?

Hmmm, let's see....SO I CAN HEAR THE MOVIE! The sound comes through the stereo system. Old and outdated, but the kids love the drive in.

There is a way to do it,but it's waaay out of the box.

If you find a Fibre optic toggle you can disable the MOST connection when the car is shut off this will stop the radio from shutting off, but it will drain your battery if you forget to turn it off, and messs with your Audio if you forget to re-enable the Bus when you turn the car back on.

You car is D2B, so all you need to do is to install a toggle in your D2B wake-up wire and it will have the same function.

The powerdown feature comes over the network not for the radio itself.

That's not old and outdated, that's so modern I've never experienced it. The last time I went to a drive-in, there was a speaker box on a cord that you hung on the inside of a window, which you then rolled up. But that was a long time ago, and the sound was never a big part of the draw.

I remember those days too, good times! Drive in's are very rare these days and I am fortunate that there is a great one close. Double feature for $7.00 is really hard to beat. The sound is really good considering it is all done over FM.
